Weekly Wrap-Up: 3/13 – 3/19

Sooo, I’m super satisfied with everything that I was able to post last week. It honestly felt a little exhilarating posting five different days again. I’m so happy with myself.

But enough of me gushing about my productivity. Let’s go over last week’s posts!

Monday 3/13: Majestic Monday #11

Last Monday, I finally got around to posting another Majestic Monday. I know that I said that I’d be posting it weekly a couple weeks before, but sometimes life happens.

My Majestic Monday post from 3/13.

Tuesday 3/14: Pi Day

I didn’t actually post anything on this day. I just like Pi Day, and believe that it deserves to be acknowledged. That is all.

Wednesday 3/15: March 2023 Birthstone Book Covers

On Wednesday, I decided to throw in my lot for Leslie from Books Are the New Black’s wonderful Birthstone Book Covers. This month is March (obviously) so the birthstone was aquamarine. So the book cover color to pick was… aquamarine. (Easy month, lol.)

My Birthstone Book Covers post from last Wednesday.

Thursday 3/16: A Thousand Steps into Night Review

A Thousand Steps into Night by Traci Chee

Thursday is when I finally got around to posting my review for A Thousand Steps into Night by Traci Chee. It was a perfectly fine book. I gave it ★★✫☆☆.

My full review of A Thousand Steps into Night.

Friday 3/17: First Line Friday #7 / St. Patrick’s Day

On Friday, I did another First Line Friday. First Line Fridays are a weekly feature formerly hosted by Wandering Words, but is something that I saw over at One Book More.

And it was also St. Patrick’s Day!! ☘️🇮🇪💚🍻

My First Line Friday post from a few days ago.

Sunday 3/19: Timekeeper Review

Timekeeper by Tara Sim

Yesterday, I posted another retrospective book review. (It’s a thing where I go over a book I read before I started this blog and see if I still like it. Or hate it.) This time it was on Timekeeper by Tara Sim. I gave it ★★★★☆.

My entire Timekeeper review.

Goals for 3/20 – 3/26

Once again, I don’t really have any other goal than to post at least as much as last week. So yeah, still nothing fancy, but it’s still what I’m able to do at the moment.

Annnd that should tie everything out in a nice little bow. As always, thank you so much to everyone for reading, and have a fantastic day/night

See ya ~Mar

Weekly Wrap-Up: 3/6 – 3/12

Weekly Wrap-Up 3/6 - 3/12

It’s a new week! Yay!

And last week was honestly fantastic for me. Sure, I didn’t quite post as much as I might’ve liked to, but I was feeling waaayy better – which is a huge step up from the two weeks preceding it. And I’ll take that any day.

But yeah, it’s a new week, so it’s time to wrap up the last one. So let’s get to it!

Wednesday 3/8: WWW Wednesday #7

WWW Wednesday

Last Wednesday I did another WWW Wednesday post. WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words, and celebrates the 3 Ws of reading. What are the 3 Ws you might ask? We’ll, you can find out if you check out my post from last week.

Thursday 3/9: The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea Review

The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by Axie Oh

On Thursday, I finally posted my book review for The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by Axie Oh. It was a wonderful fairytale-like fantasy novel that I rated ★★★★☆. If you’re interested in my thoughts on it, you can read my review in full here.

Friday 3/10: First Line Friday #6

First Line Fridays

This past Friday I participated in another First Line Friday. First Line Friday is a weekly feature formerly hosted by Wandering Words, but is something that I discovered over at One Book More. To see what book I highlighted, you can click here.

Sunday 3/12: A Court of Mist and Fury Review

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

Yesterday (still part of last week though), I did another retrospective book review. It’s where I review a book I read before I created this blog and see if it still holds up for me.

This time, I did A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J, Maas, a very popular fantasy novel in a very popular fantasy series. I originally felt it was ★★★★★, but my feelings have since changed. If you want to know what I think about the book now, my entire review and all, you can read it here.

Goals for 3/13 – 3/19

Once again, I don’t really have any other goal than to post at least as much as or (hopefully) more than last week. So yeah, still nothing fancy, but it’s what I’m able to do at the moment. I only recently got over being sick for a while, and I’m still trying to take it easier and I don’t want to stress myself out.

Annnd that should tie everything out in a nice little bow. As always, thank you so much to everyone for reading, and have a fantastic day/night!

See ya ~Mar

Weekly Wrap-Up: 2/27 – 3/5

Weekly Wrap-Up 2/27 - 3/5

It’s the start of a new week, and I’m finally feeling better. And I owe it all to last week – I did a ton of research on how to make myself feel better with my chronic illness, and it’s really helped.

Back to the blog, I’m honestly pretty happy with what I was able to post last week. I would’ve liked to get one more post out, but it’s fine. It was more than the week before, after all.

Tuesday 2/28: Weekly Wrap-Up #IDK

I don’t usually highlight my Weekly Wrap-Up from the prior week, but it was late, which was unusual. And it really felt significant to me while getting over being sick. So yeah, that’s what was up last Tuesday.

Wednesday 3/1: Shelf Control #11

Last Wednesday, I finally did another Shelf Control. It’d been a couple of weeks since I’d participated, so I was determined to make it happen last week.

Shelf Control is a weekly feature hosted by Lisa @ Bookshelf Fantasies. It’s a weekly celebration of the unread books on our shelves. If you missed my post and are interested in what book from my bookshelf I highlighted last week, you can read it here.

Friday 3/3: First Lines Friday #5

On Friday, I managed to participate in First Line Fridays. First Line Fridays is a weekly feature (formerly) hosted by Wandering Words. It focuses on judging books by their words as opposed to their covers.

You can check out my post here if you’re interested.

Saturday 3/4: February 2023 Monthly Wrap-Up

Saturday, I finally got around to posting my reading wrap-up and stats for February 2023. I’m really happy with everything I was able to read and accomplish last month, even if I would’ve liked to read and review more books. I’ll definitely do better in March!

If you wanna see my reading stats from last month, you can read the post here.

Goals for 3/6 to 3/12

This week’s goal is the same one from last week: just to post more than I did the week before. No specific post goals again. I’d really like to do five posts, though, if possible. And I definitely think it’s possible, seeing as I’m feeling way better this week. I’m excited to see what’s in store for me!

As always, thank you so much for reading and have a wonderful day/night!

See ya ~Mar

(A Very Late) Weekly Wrap-Up: 2/20 – 2/26

Weekly Wrap-Up 2/20 - 2/26

So, like um… I got sick this past weekend (technically Thursday) and that’s all I’m gonna say about it.

We’re somewhat into a new week already, but it just doesn’t feel right to me, to not start off the week’s posts without a weekly wrap-up. So I’m doing it, even though I’m very disappointed with my posting from last week. (Even though I know it wasn’t my fault.)

Monday 2/20: Majestic Monday #10

Last Monday, I finally got back in the saddle and restarted Majestic Mondays. And what better number to (re) kick it off than with the first of the double digits!

With this post, however, I’ve gone back to doing Majestic Monday the way I did it my very first post – by only highlighting one awesome book cover as opposed to the three that had become the norm. It was just too much on Mondays, with me doing weekly wrap-ups and all.

Anyway, this week I looked at The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. If you missed the big comeback, you can read the post here.

Wednesday 2/22: WWW Wednesday #6

Wednesday, I did my usual. Well, part of my usual, at least. We had to move a meetup around kind of at the last minute, so my Wednesday last week was unexpectedly busy. As such, I only had time enough for one post, and I chose WWW Wednesday. At random.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. If you wanna know about what I’ve been reading lately, you can check out my post here.

Friday 2/24: A Conjuring of Light Review

On Friday, I finally managed to get my book review out for A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab. It’s the third book in the Shades of Magic series, and I thought it was a lovely end to it. (For now – apparently Schwab has more on the way.) (Not really interested in reading those though, as of right now.)

If you’re interested and you missed it, you can read my review for ACOL here.

Goals for 2/27 – 3/5

All I want to do this week (for the blog) is to post more than last week. I don’t have a set number of posts I want to do, or any specific kinds of posts – save for a book review (or two) (hopefully). Also, Majestic Monday is out this week, for (obvious) reasons. (And I don’t have it in me to do it today/Tuesday this week either.)

Anyway, thank you for reading and I hope you have a really great day/night!

See ya ~Mar

Weekly Wrap-Up: 2/13 – 2/19

Weekly Wrap-Up 2/13 - 2/19

It’s another Monday, so, as the start of a new week, it’s time to wrap up the last one.

This past week had a lot, Valentine’s Day probably being the standout. But as for the blog… I managed to post a few times.

So, without further ado, let’s get into it.

Tuesday 2/14: The Ballad of Never After Review / Valentine’s Day

The Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber

On Tuesday, incidentally Valentine’s Day, I posted my book review of The Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber. It’s the sequel to Once Upon a Broken Heart, and it has just as much of a banger ending. But it doesn’t have the most banger characters. More on that in the review – which you can read here if you want.

And also: Happy Valentine’s Day!! 💖🌹💌🍫

Wednesday 2/15: Shelf Control #10, WWW Wednesday #5

Last Wednesday, I actually managed to double post! Yay! First, I did a Shelf Control, a weekly feature I participate in, hosted by Bookshelf Fantasies. Later on, I posted for another meme I participate in, WWW Wednesdays, hosted by Taking on a World of Words.

You can check out the Shelf Control here, and you can read the WWW Wednesday post here.

Thursday 2/16: Birthstone Book Covers February 2023

Thursday, I finally posted my Birthstone Book Covers post for the month of February. Birthstone Book Covers is a fun thing hosted by Books Are the New Black. You can read my post here and see how to join in if you’re interested.

Friday 2/17: First Line Fridays #4

For Friday, I participated in yet another weekly meme that I like, First Line Fridays. It’s not really hosted anywhere anymore (to my knowledge) but I saw it over at One Book More.

For more info on the meme, and if you missed my post and wanna check it out, you can read it here.

Saturday 2/18 & Sunday 2/19: Error 404 – Not Found

Insert Image Here

Uhhhh… So this weekend I didn’t do anything. Sorry – was doing some family stuff and taking a bit of a break. It felt good at the time, but now I’m a little disappointed in myself for not doing at least one more post. Whoops. Hope this coming week goes better.

Goals for 2/20 – 2/26

So, like, I wish I posted at least a bit more. And I want to rectify that this coming week. Other than that, here’s the particular posting goals I’d like to do:

  • Majestic Monday
  • Shelf Control
  • WWW Wednesday
  • First Line Friday
  • at least two book reviews
  • …idk what else at the top of my head right now

So that’s it for this past week’s Weekly Wrap-Up! Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day/night!

See ya ~Mar

Weekly Wrap-Up: 2/6 – 2/12

Weekly Wrap-Up 2/6 - 2/12

It’s Monday again, so, as the start of a new week, it’s time to go over that last one. A weekly wrap-up, you could say.

Without further ado, let’s get into it.

Tuesday 2/7: Cress Review

Last Tuesday, I finally finished Cress!! And I did a review for it. I was so proud of myself – this is something that I’ve been trying to do for literally years. And I finally did it!

If you’re interested and you missed it, you can read my review for it here.

Wednesday 2/8: WWW Wednesday

WWW Wednesday
WWW Wednesday

On Wednesday, I had intended to do both a Shelf Control and a WWW Wednesday, but because of life, I was only able to do the latter.

WWW Wednesday is a meme that used to be hosted at A Daily Rhythm, but has been taken over by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. If you wanna know what the 3 Ws are and what I’ve been reading lately, you can read my post here.

Saturday 2/11: Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children Review

Saturday I did another retrospective book review. This one was on a book that I really enjoyed when I first read it. It was Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs.

You can check out my full review here, if you missed it.

Sunday 2/12: Winter Review

On Sunday (yesterday), I actually finished The Lunar Chronicles. I finished up Winter and then proceeded to write up and post a review for it. A fantastic ending to a great series.

If you’re interested in my opinion of the finale to The Lunar Chronicles, you can read it here.

Goals for This Week: 2/13 – 2/19

Unfortunately, last week I didn’t post as much as I wanted. I had intended to do a Shelf Control (as I mentioned briefly above), but I had wanted to post at least one other time. But, you know, sometimes life just happens.

So this week, my goals are:

  • Shelf Control
  • WWW Wednesday
  • First Lines Friday
  • a few book reviews
  • … maaayybe a Majestic Monday

Annnd that’s all for this Weekly Wrap-Up! As I said, I did a lot, and read some books. Had a lot of fun doing it too.

Thanks so much for reading, and have an excellent day/night!

See ya ~Mar

Weekly Wrap-Up: 1/30 – 2/5

Weekly Wrap-Up 1/30 - 2/5

Monday has come around once again, and with it, yet another brand new week. So it’s time to review the latest week on the blog – a weekly wrap-up, if you will.

This past week I actually got quite a bit done. Not nearly as many posts as the week before and no double posting, but we can’t all be the week of January 23 to 29.

So, without further ado, let’s get into the week of January 30 to February 5.

Monday 1/30: Majestic Monday #9

Majestic Monday - Weekly Wrap-Up

Sooo, last week Monday, I managed to squeeze out a Majestic Monday, despite being pretty busy. I reviewed three amazing book covers: Tress of the Emerald Sea, Unnatural Magic, and Siege and Storm.

If you missed it, you can check it out here.

Wednesday 2/1: WWW Wednesday #3

WWW Wednesday - Weekly Wrap-Up

On Wednesday, I participated in WWW Wednesday for the third time, as well as the third week in a row.

WWW Wednesday is a meme that used to be hosted at A Daily Rhythm, but has been taken over by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. It focuses on the 3 Ws. If you want to find out what those are, you can check out my take on WWW Wednesday here.

Thursday 2/2: What Moves the Dead Review

What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher

Thursday, I finally got another book review out and posted. It was on What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher, a retelling of Edgar Allen Poe’s The Fall of the House of Usher, but with a more fungal flavor to it. If you’re interested in my full review, you can read it here.

Friday 2/3: First Line Friday #3

First Line Friday - Weekly Wrap-Up

This past Friday, I once again participated in First Line Fridays. First Line Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers (formerly) hosted by Wandering Words. It’s where you post the first lines of a book and have people try to guess what it is. You can read my post here, if you’re interested.

Saturday 2/4: January 2023 Monthly Wrap-Up

January 2023 Monthly Reading Wrap-Up

Saturday, February 4, I finally got around to posting my January 2023 Monthly Reading Wrap-Up. Fir those who don’t know, it’s this thing I do every month, where I post my reading stats from The StoryGraph.

If you were interested in what I read during the month of January, you can find out all about it here.

Sunday 2/5: The Savior’s Champion Review

The Savior's Champion by Jenna Moreci

On Sunday, I had wanted to post another book review (Cress), but it wasn’t quite ready yet, so I posted a retrospective book review instead.

This time I did one on The Savior’s Champion by Jenna Moreci, a book I originally rated pretty highly cuz I liked the author’s YouTube videos and wanted to be nice. Now, I went through the book again without bias this time around, and… well, you’ll see if you decide to check out my review. Which you can do here, if you’re interested.

Goals for the Week of 2/6 – 2/12

This week I did a lot of what I wanted. I wasn’t able to do all of my usual weekly posts (*cough* Shelf Control *cough*), but I did do a couple of book reviews. I also continued with bettering my blog. Unfortunately, I still wasn’t able to start that new post series that I was interested in doing, though. (I got my Monthly Reading Wrap-Up done, though!)

So this week, my goals are:

  • Shelf Control
  • WWW Wednesday
  • First Lines Friday
  • a few book reviews
  • the new thing that I wanted to do the two last weeks that I wasn’t able to

Annnd that’s all for this Weekly Wrap-Up! As I said, I did a lot, and read some books. Had a lot of fun doing it too.

Thanks so much for reading, and have an excellent day/night! Join me next post for more bookish things!

See ya ~Mar

Weekly Wrap-Up: 1/23 – 1/29

Weekly Wrap-Up 1/23 - 1/29

Good [insert time of day of your choice here]! It’s the start of a new week, so it’s time to wrap up the past one. It’s time for a Weekly Wrap-Up.

This past week I posted a lot more, even despite the medical stuff I had going on, so I’m super satisfied with what I was able to do. I did so many posts, participated in some features/memes, and even double posted on a few days.

So, without further ado, let’s get into it.

Monday 1/23: Majestic Monday #8

Majestic Monday #8 - Weekly Wrap-Up

This past Monday, I did one post – Majestic Monday. Majestic Monday is when I admire three pretty book covers that I’ve come across in the interim. Because pretty covers deserve recognition! If you missed the post, you can check it out here, to look at the books that I highlighted.

Tuesday 1/24: Spinning Silver Review

On Tuesday, I finally managed to get my review out for Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik. It was a truly fantastic novel that I definitely recommend. Fantasy, winter vibes, and fairies done right. What more could you ask for?

If you want to read the full review, you can read it here.

Wednesday 1/25: Shelf Control #9, WWW Wednesday #2

This was a double post day. The second one during the week, in fact! (The first was Monday, cuz I posted my last Weekly Wrap-Up for the week before then, too.)

Wednesday I posted my usual contributions to participating on the two Wednesday features I take part in. Shelf Control is a feature hosted by Lisa @ Bookshelf Fantasies, and WWW Wednesday is a feature hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words.

I posted for both of them last week. You can read my Shelf Control post host here and you can check out my WWW Wednesday post here.

Thursday 1/26: Scarlet Review

Thursday, I did another book review, but this was a retrospective one. A retrospective book review is when I skim through a book I read in the recent years before I had a blog, and determine whether I like it as much as I did when I originally read it.

This time I did Scarlet, the second book in The Lunar Chronicles, written by Marissa Meyer. If you’re interested and you missed it, you can read the review here.

Friday 1/27: First Lines Friday #2

First Lines Friday #2 - Weekly Wrap-Up

First Lines Friday is another meme that I’ve started taking part in very recently. It’s a fun little thing (formerly) hosted by Wandering Words, but I saw it on One Book More.

I posted my second contribution this past Friday. You can read it here if you missed it and are interested in checking out my post

Sunday 1/29: Deeplight Review

Yesterday, I posted yet another book review, this one on another book by an author I’d read earlier in January. That’s right – it was Deeplight by Frances Hardinge.

Deeplight is an unsettling, dark fantasy with both Frankenstein and Subnautica elements to it. Go read it if you like darker stuff, it’s pretty good. Check out my full review here, if you missed it.

Goals for the Week of 1/29 – 2/5

This week I did a lot of what I wanted. I was able to do all of my usual weekly posts and several book reviews. I also started looking into some stuff to make my blog even better. Due to some stuff going on, though, I wasn’t able to start a new post series that I was interested in doing.

So this week, my goals are:

  • Majestic Monday
  • Shelf Control
  • WWW Wednesday
  • First Lines Friday
  • a few book reviews
  • the new thing that I wanted to do last week that I wasn’t able to

Annnd that’s all for this Weekly Wrap-Up! As I said, did a lot, double posted, read a lot of books. Had a lot of fun doing it too.

Thanks so much for reading, and have an excellent day/night! Join me next post for more bookish things!

See ya. ~Mar

Weekly Wrap-Up: 1/16 – 1/22

Weekly Wrap-Up 1/16 - 1/22

And here we are! Another week, another Weekly Wrap-Up!

This week, I tried participating in a couple of new memes/features. It was tons of fun! I’ll definitely keep up with them. It’s also been a week filled with The Lunar Chronicles posts, courtesy of one of the books I’m currently reading, and me attempting to be “very subtle” with buildup, haha.

But yeah, it was a pretty great week, even if I would’ve liked to get at least one more post, er, posted. But I tried some new stuff too, so that has softened the blow a bit. (Though that was entirely my own fault. I spent a little bit (read: I actually mean a lot) more of my free time than I should’ve, reading fanfiction. …No regrets though, honestly. (Good) Fanfiction is fantastic.)

So now, without further ado, I’m gonna break down the past week on The Blog That Nobody Knows!

Tuesday 1/17: Majestic Monday Tuesday #7

It’d been a couple of weeks, and since I’ve kindled a desire to be more proactive and consistent, I decided to do another Majestic Monday.

Majestic Monday (or Tuesday in this case, cuz I posted late *cough*) is when I admire three pretty book covers that I’ve come across in the interim. Because pretty covers deserve recognition! If you missed the post, you can check it out here.

Wednesday 1/18: WWW Wednesday #1

On Wednesday, I decided to start participating in another feature. It’s hosted by the blog, Taking on a World of Words, and is a thing that happens every Wednesday.

If you missed the post and wanna know what the 3 Ws are, you can read it here! (And you can also check out the original potter’s post. Cuz I link everything, as you shall see.)

Thursday 1/19: Cinder Review

On Thursday, I reviewed Cinder, the first novel in The Lunar Chronicles series, by Marissa Meyer. It’s an utterly fantastic book, and part of an even more fantastic series. If you like fairytales (and fairytale retellings) then this is the book for you!

It’s also an awesome science fantasy, so if you’re into that as well, definitely check it out! If you missed the review, you can read it here!

Friday 1/20: First Line Fridays #1

First Line Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers, (formerly) hosted by Wandering Words. It’s where you post the first line of a book, and then have your readers try to guess what book it is, before revealing what book it is.

It was the other of the new things that I wanted to try out this week, and I also loved it. So yes, I will be doing it again, haha. If you missed my (very first) post, you can check it out here.

Goals for 1/23 – 1/29

Annnd that’s all for this week. Almost.

For about two or three weeks when I first started this post, I posted about my blogging goals for the next week. And then I stopped doing it because I got stressed or something, I don’t know.

But, I’ve decided to start doing it again! So yay, I can say I’m gonna do things, and then you guys can judge me and hold me accountable. Awesome. So looking forward to that. (Just kidding, it’s totally gonna be something to keep me motivated!)

So this week, my goals are:

  • (spoiler alert) post my Spinning Silver review
  • post another Majestic Monday
  • finish at least one book and post a review on it
  • do another Shelf Control, as well as particular in WWW Wednesday again
  • start this new series/feature I’ve been thinking about (a lot) on my blog
  • First Line Fridays again
  • at least one retrospective book review
  • …maybe something else, idk?

So yeah, that’s quite a few goals this week. But I actually think that it looks like more than it actually is – at least it feels like that to me (for whatever reason). Either way, I’m very excited about what’s to come.

As always, thank you all so very much for reading, and I hope you have an amazing day/night! Tune in next time for more bookish things.

~ Mar ~

Weekly Wrap-Up: 1/9 – 1/15

Two weeks in a row! Haha! The beginning of the world’s smallest streak!

In all seriousness, welcome back to another Weekly Wrap-Up. I said that it was coming back, and I’ve kept my promise (so far)! This week, my blogging has been pretty good. It was better than most of December, so honestly, I’ll count that as progress. Now, let’s get into the posting.

Monday 1/9: The Return of Weekly Wrap-Ups

Normally, I wouldn’t acknowledge a Weekly Wrap-Up during a Weekly Wrap-Up. But since I wasn’t doing it for nearly a month, I felt that it was notable enough to be here, just this once.

If you haven’t been around for awhile and want to catch up, or if you’re new here, then you can easily check out the last week’s Weekly Wrap-Up here.

Tuesday 1/10: Birthstone Book Covers

It’s a new month, and with every new month comes a new Birthstone Book Covers. Birthstone Book Covers is an awesome book thing created and hosted by Leslie @ Books Are the New Black. This month, I once again chose five books of the five book minimum that featured the color of this month’s birthstone. You can check out my January 2023 post here.

Thursday 1/12: Shelf Control #8

On Thursday morning, technically a few hours over the deadline, I posted another Shelf Control. Shelf Control is an original series created and hosted by Lisa @ Bookshelf Fantasies. This week, I highlighted a contemporary fiction story for once: Instructions for a Secondhand Heart by Tamsyn Murray. It’s one that I’ve had for a few years, but have never read. You can read my entire post about it here.

Friday 1/13: Unraveller Review (and Friday the 13th)

On Friday, I finally did another book review. It’s been far too long (about three weeks) since the last one I posted – and since the last book I finished, ew – and I finally got over the holidays and back on my game.

The first book that I read and finished this year was Unraveller by Frances Hardinge. It’s a wonderfully gruesome, dark fantasy about a boy who can unravel the very fabric of curses, who is on a quest with a former curse victim that he freed to break his own curse. You can read my full review here, if you’re interested.

Sunday 1/15: Red Winter Retrospective Review

Finally, on Sunday I did a retrospective book review. It’d been basically a month (to the day actually!) since my last Reading Retrospective, so another was more than overdue. (Just like Weekly Wrap-Ups. Haha?)

This time I retrospectively reviewed Red Winter, of the Red Winter Trilogy, by Annette Marie. It’s a Japanese folklore inspired fantasy, set in modern Japan, and follows a young miko and the kitsune that owes her a debt. You can check out my entire review here.

What’s in store for next week? I certainly don’t know, though I’d like to do another Majestic Monday, a couple book reviews, a retrospective review, and something else!

What have you guys done this week? How many books did you read, if any? What did you think of them, if you did?

As usual, thank you all very much for reading and join me next time for more bookish things! Have a wonderful day/night!
