Weekly Wrap-Up: 2/10 – 2/16

So, concerning this past week… It was better than the last one was for me, in regards to my blog posting. Still could’ve been better though – I didn’t get a chance to finish a book, unfortunately.

I was distracted, okay! Sometimes I get hyper fixated on fandoms and just can’t stop reading and searching for (good) fanfiction. I’m really gonna try to be better this week, though. I got a new book I have to read, after all. (Actually, I have several of those, but this one is a new new book, as in a new release.)

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get on with the weekly wrap-up!

Tuesday 2/11: Top Ten Tuesday

Last Tuesday, I participated in Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It celebrates lovely lists, wonderful books and the bookish community. This week’s prompt was Love Freebie.

Thursday 2/13: Birthstone Book Covers

On Wednesday, I participated in my favorite monthly post, Birthstone Book Covers. Birthstone Book Covers is a fun little post created and hosted by Leslie @ Books Are the New Black.

Each month, for the post, you feature book covers that are either the same color of the month’s birthstone or include the color in the title. This month was February, and its birthstone is garnet. So the colors are all different shades of purple.

Friday 2/14: Valentine’s Day / First Line Fridays

Last Friday was Valentine’s Day! 💝🌹💌🌷🍫💐 We didn’t really do anything, because places are usually busy, but it was still Heart Day. (We always celebrate our Valentine’s Day on one of the days surrounding it instead, cuz of the busy-ness.)

I also participated in First Line Fridays for the first time in a few weeks. First Line Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers (formerly) hosted by Wandering Words.

Books I Read Last Week

💖🎁 Wrapping It All Up 💖🎁

So yeah, last week definitely could’ve been better, but it was an improvement on the week before, at least concerning the blog. I’m hoping to do at least four posts this week though; two or three additional blog posts aside from the Weekly Wrap-Up just never feels like enough.

This week I’m definitely going to finish the new Emily Wilde book and review it. Hopefully I’ll start reading another book as well, as I’ve got so many new ones to read, what with my moderately recent hauls.

Regarding stuff outside the blog… Last week was Valentine’s Day. It was pretty enjoyable – my spouse and I had a good time doing our usual things. Concerning this coming week… I’m hoping to do some stuff around the house.

Anyway, as always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

Top Ten Tuesday: Love Freebie

Happy Tuesday everybody!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It celebrates lovely lists, wonderful books and the bookish community. This week’s topic is Love Freebie. So for this one I’ve decided to do the ten most recent books I’ve loved (so given four stars or higher) that have romance in them.

On with the post!

  1. This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone (Red x Blue)
  2. Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu (Lan Wangji x Wei Wuxian)
  3. The Glass Scientists by S.H. Cotugno (Henry Jekyll x Robert Lanyon)
  4. The Ghostkeeper by Johanna Taylor (Dorian x Brody)
  5. The Dragonwatch series by Brandon Mull (Kendra Sorenson x Bracken)
  6. The Magisterium by Holly Black & Cassandra Clare (Callum x Tamara)
  7. Otherworldly by F.T. Lukens (Ellery x Knox)
  8. So This is Ever After by F.T. Lukens (Arek x Matt)
  9. The Emily Wilde series by Heather Fawcett (Emily Wilde x Wendell Brambleby)
  10. White Trash Warlock by David R. Slayton (Adam x Vic)

What are your favorite new books that feature romance in them? How good is the romance? Is it one of the highlights of the book or is it one of the weaker aspects?

As always, thanks so much for reading, and I hope that you have an amazing day/night!

See ya ~Mar

10 Book Covers With Hearts and Flowers for Love Month

I had planned to have this out by this Wednesday… but I was busy celebrating Valentine’s Day with my spouse (and other stuff), so I’m posting it today! It’s still Love Month, so it’s still okay!

This is kind of inspired by other Valentine’s Day posts that I’ve seen, but with my own spin on it. Specifically, I’m going to be showing off covers that have hearts and/or flowers on them, or that have a hearts and/or flowers theme going on. Bonus points if there’s a reference in the book’s title.

Without further ado, let’s get started! And, it’s a little late, but Happy Valentine’s Day!! 💝💐🍫💌

1 • Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber
2 • Flowerheart by Catherine Bakewell
3 • Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
4 • A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas
5 • Heartless by Marissa Meyer
6 • New Moon by Srephenie Meyer
7 • Instructions for a Secondhand Heart by Tamsyn Murray
8 • Belladonna by Adalyn Grace
9 • Sweet Little Lies by Lauren Conrad
10 • Beastly by Alex Flinn

And that’s a wrap! As always, thank you to everyone for reading, and I hope that you have a lovely day/night!

See ya ~Mar
