Weekly Wrap-Up: 4/20 – 4/26

Hey everybody, and Happy Monday!

Last week was alright. It was better than the one before in that I read something, but there was still stuff going on for me. It’s been a rough month, honestly. Hopefully I can end on a higher note, though.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get on with the Weekly Wrap-Up!

Tuesday 4/21: Top Ten Tuesday

Last Tuesday, I participated in Top Ten Tuesday again for the first time in a few weeks. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It celebrates lovely lists, wonderful books and the bookish community. The prompt for last week was April Showers.

Wednesday 4/22: Can’t-Wait Wednesday / WWW Wednesday

On Wednesday, I participated in Can’t-Wait Wednesday again. Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Tressa @ Wishful Endings. It focuses on books you’re looking forward to reading, usually new releases.

I also participated in WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. It focuses on the Three Ws of Reading: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? and What do you think you’ll read next?

Sunday 4/26: Birthstone Book Covers

Yesterday, I participated in Birthstone Book Covers. Birthstone Book Covers is a fun little post created and hosted by Leslie @ Books Are the New Black.

Each month, for the post, you feature book covers that are either the same color of the month’s birthstone or include the color in the title. This month was April, and its birthstone is diamond. So the color I picked was white.

Books I Read Last Week

Wrapping It All Up

So yeah, last week was okay. I’m hoping this week will at least be just as decent, but I’ve got something going on, so I might not be as on top of the blogging portion, and I’m not sure how much I’ll be up for reading. Hopefully everything is all good, though.

I’m not quite sure what I’m reading next, as I’m kind of in-between choices, but I’ll figure it out soon. For blogging this week, I want to participate in a few of my favorite weekly posts, and do a book review for Dungeon Crawler Carl, hopefully before the turn of the month.

Outside of books and blogging, everything is kind of the same as last week. I still haven’t gotten that IRL thing I mentioned last week resolved, but I should be getting it done this week.

Anyway, as always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

See ya ~Mar

Weekly Wrap-Up: 4/13 – 4/19

Hey everybody, hope you had a good week!

Last week was… fine. My blog activity was pretty good, but my book reading just wasn’t up to par, unfortunately. There was some stuff going on though, so I was busier than normal. This week I’m gonna do better.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get on with the Weekly Wrap-Up!

Tuesday 4/14: A Widow’s Charm Review

Last Tuesday, I finally got my thoughts together and posted my review for A Widow’s Charm by Caitlyn Paxson. It’s a relatively recent fantasy release.

I thought it was alright; I don’t think it was really for me. It seemed like it was going to be a cozier slow-burn with some mystery and intrigue, with a dash of fantasy, but that wasn’t really what it ended up being at all. The writing was pretty good though. I gave it ★★★✩✩.

Wednesday 4/15: Can’t-Wait Wednesday / WWW Wednesday

On Wednesday, I participated in Can’t-Wait Wednesday again. Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Tressa @ Wishful Endings. It focuses on books you’re looking forward to reading, usually new releases.

I also participated in WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. It focuses on the Three Ws of Reading: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? and What do you think you’ll read next?

Friday 4/17: First Line Friday

This past Friday, I participated in First Line Friday again. First Line Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers (formerly) hosted by Wandering Words. It’s where you guess what book the post is highlighting based on the book’s first words.

Books I Read Last Week

Wrapping It All Up

So yeah, last week wasn’t quite what I wanted it to be. Oh well. I’m absolutely planning on being better this week. We’ll see what happens – fingers crossed everything pans out. 🤞🍀

I’m reading Dungeon Crawler Carl next. It’s just gonna happen. I’m definitely starting it tonight or tomorrow. I’ve negotiated this with myself; no more distractions or RL obligations will get in my way this time. After that though, I might read the sequel if I like it and catch up with my spouse. Regardless, I’m going to start Aurora: Volume 2 soon as well, hopefully by next week, and I’d like to read another new book from this month. I was thinking No Gods No Kings, but I’m not fully decided on anything.

For blogging this week, I want to participate in a few of my favorite weekly posts, especially Top Ten Tuesday which I haven’t in a while. I’d also like to participate in Birthstone Book Covers, and do a book review if I finish Dungeon Crawler Carl within the next couple of days.

There hasn’t been too much going on outside the blog, except for a kinda personal RL thing that I don’t really feel like getting into. It’s not too much of a big deal it’s just something annoying and frustrating, that I’m still working on, but it’ll be okay (hopefully) soon. My spouse and I are alright, though, and home life and other things are otherwise good.

Anyway, as always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

See ya ~Mar

Weekly Wrap-Up: 4/6 – 4/12

I can’t believe it’s Monday again already! Geez, last week went by quickly! It was honestly a bit of a crazy one, especially at the end there.

Last week, I wasn’t quite as on top of everything as I had wanted to be. But there was a lot going on during the second half, so it’s not completely on me. I’m definitely gonna do better this week!

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get on with the Weekly Wrap-Up!

Tuesday 4/7: The Most Interesting Looking New Books of April 2026

Last Tuesday, I posted a list of the books that I’m looking forward to this month. Or, at least the ones that I think look the most interesting. It was the The Most Interesting Looking New Books of April 2026. As always, it’s basically only fantasy and science fiction, as those are the two genres I primarily read. This time there were eight books on my list.

Wednesday 4/8: Can’t-Wait Wednesday / WWW Wednesday

On Wednesday, I participated in Can’t-Wait Wednesday again. Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Tressa @ Wishful Endings. It focuses on books you’re looking forward to reading, usually new releases.

I also participated in WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. It focuses on the Three Ws of Reading: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? and What do you think you’ll read next?

Books I Read Last Week

Wrapping It All Up

So yeah, last week wasn’t my best week. So I want this week to be better. Fingers crossed. 🤞🍀

This week, in regards to blogging, I want to finally post my review for A Widow’s Charm by Caitlyn Paxson. I’m really annoyed at myself for taking this long to get it out. I also want to do at least a couple of my usual weekly posts, as well as either participate in my favorite monthly post or do a Bewitching Book Covers. We’ll see what happens. Regardless, I’d like to post a little more than I did this past week.

For books and reading, I really want to start (and hopefully finish) Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman. I was planning on starting it last week, but it wasn’t happening, apparently. I also want to read at least one more book, whether it be the sequel to Dungeon Crawler Carl or something else.

Outside of books and blogging, my spouse and I started a couple new anime. They’re both new, as well as from this season. The first one is Daemons of the Shadow Realm, also (and originally) known as Yomi no Tsugai. It’s adapted from a dark fantasy manga of the same names, by Hiromu Arakawa. Yes, the creator of Fullmetal Alchemist (which also happens to be one of my top three animes). It was one of our most anticipated spring anime, and the first episode was very strong. It’s pretty different from FMA, but it’s still good.

The other anime we started watching was the highly anticipated Witch Hat Atelier. It’s about, well, witches. It also has a really cool magic system, and is a love letter to art. We’re really liking this one so far! I can’t wait to see where both of these go – I’m already invested!

My spouse and I are also still trying to be healthier. It’s still going pretty well, but I hope we do even better with it.

Anyway, as always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

See ya ~Mar

Weekly Wrap-Up: 3/30 – 4/5

It’s a new week! Happy Monday everybody!

Last week was pretty good. My blog activity was really high; even though it wasn’t as strong during the second half of the week. I also read a new book, which I’m very happy about. Starting off April very well!

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get on with the Weekly Wrap-Up!

Monday 3/30: Birthstone Book Covers

Last Monday, I participated in Birthstone Book Covers. Birthstone Book Covers is a fun little post created and hosted by Leslie @ Books Are the New Black.

Each month, for the post, you feature book covers that are either the same color of the month’s birthstone or include the color in the title. This month was March, and its birthstone is aquamarine. So the colors to pick from are shades of cyan.

Tuesday 3/31: Top Ten Tuesday

On Tuesday, I participated in Top Ten Tuesday for the first time in a couple of weeks. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It celebrates lovely lists, wonderful books and the bookish community. The prompt for last week was Buzzwords or Phrases That Make Me Want to Read (or Avoid) a Book.

Wednesday 4/1: Can’t-Wait Wednesday / WWW Wednesday

This past Wednesday, I participated in Can’t-Wait Wednesday again.

Saturday 4/4: March Reading 2026

On Saturday, I posted my Monthly Reading Wrap-Up for March 2026. And I posted it even earlier than I did last month’s wrap-up! For those who don’t know, monthly wrap-ups are when I go over the books I read over the past month, as well as my stats over on The StoryGraph.

Sunday 4/5: Easter

Yesterday, it was Easter, so much like last year, I ended up not posting anything on the blog. But to those who celebrate, Happy Easter!! 🐇🐤🧺🥚 We had a great afternoon spending time with family – for us it’s one of the few times of the year when everyone is able to get together, so it’s important to me for pretty much that reason alone.

There were even a few more family members than usual, which made it extra special. Also, there was a lot of good food for dinner and some wonderful desserts. It was just a wonderful day in general.

Books I Read Last Week

Wrapping It All Up

So yeah, I’m pretty satisfied with everything I was able to do last week. I’m happy to have read a book, though I wouldn’t have minded reading a second one. The holiday made the weekend busy, however, and I had other stuff going on over the week, so I’m not that disappointed about it. I’m also really happy about the blogging I did. Five posts! Yay!

This week I want to participate in a couple of my favorite weekly posts, as well as post my review for A Widow’s Charm by Caitlyn Paxson. I also want to definitely post my list of most interesting new books of April 2026. I would’ve liked to do that this past week, but I ran out of time, unfortunately. And in regards to reading books, I want to finally start Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman next.

Outside of books and blogging, not much other than Easter went on last week. Other than that, nothing’s really changed. My spouse and I are still being healthier, and we’ve watched some stuff on and off, but other than that, not much.

Anyway, as always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

See ya ~Mar

Weekly Wrap-Up: 3/23 – 3/29

Happy Monday everybody! I hope you had a nice week! It’s Weekly Wrap-Up time!

Last week was great, both in regards to bloc activity and for reading books. I posted on here a good about, and I read a few books. It was awesome!

But yeah, without further ado, let’s get on with the Weekly Wrap-Up!

Tuesday 3/24: Top Ten Tuesday

Last Tuesday, I participated in Top Ten Tuesday for the first time in a couple of weeks. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It celebrates lovely lists, wonderful books and the bookish community. The prompt for last week was Books on Your Spring To-Read List.

Wednesday 3/25: Can’t-Wait Wednesday / WWW Wednesday

On Wednesday, I participated in Can’t-Wait Wednesday again. Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Tressa @ Wishful Endings. It focuses on books you’re looking forward to reading, usually new releases.

I also participated in WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. It focuses on the Three Ws of Reading: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? and What do you think you’ll read next?

Friday 3/26: First Line Friday

This past Friday, I participated in First Line Friday again. First Line Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers (formerly) hosted by Wandering Words. It’s where you guess what book the post is highlighting based on the book’s first words.

Books I Read Last Week

Wrapping It All Up

So yeah, I’m generally pretty happy with everything I got done last week. I would’ve liked to have read (or at least started) maybe one more book and done one more blog post, but I’m satisfied with how things turned out.

For this week, I want to participate in my usual weekly posts, but I also want to post my list of most interesting looking books for April 2026. I’d also really like to get a book review out – I didn’t manage to do so last week, which disappointed me.

Concerning books and reading, I want to start A Widow’s Charm by Caitlyn Paxson, probably tomorrow. I also want to read Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman, as well as its sequel, Carl’s Doomsday Scenario, if I like it. I had intended to get to Dungeon Crawler Carl this past weekend, but the One Piece arc I was reading lasted longer than I thought, so I had to read another omnibus. Oh well.

I didn’t do much else last week, outside of books and blogging, which is a little strange. Usually something is going on. My spouse and I have continued to be healthier, I guess? We’ve both definitely noticed a difference with that, at least. I dunno, we haven’t started any new shows or anything. So yeah, nothing much outside of reading and stuff. Easter’s gonna be this Sunday, so I’m looking forward to that.

Anyway, as always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

See ya ~Mar

Weekly Wrap-Up: 3/16 – 3/22

Yes! I’m on time today! Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a good week! It’s time for another Weekly Wrap-Up!

Last week wasn’t too bad, but it could’ve been a little better. I did read a book, though, and posted a few times on here, so I’m relatively content with it all.

But yeah, without further ado, let’s get on with the Weekly Wrap-Up!

Tuesday 3/17: St. Patrick’s Day

Last Tuesday was St. Pat’s, so here’s a belated Happy St. Patrick’s Day!! ☘️🍻💚🇮🇪 It’s one of my favorite days of the year; I just love how it almost always feels like spring, as well as the green theme. I really like the color green. And the food is always amazing.

Wednesday 3/18: WWW Wednesday

On Wednesday, I participated in WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. It focuses on the Three Ws of Reading: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? and What do you think you’ll read next?

Friday 3/20: First Day of Spring / First Line Friday

This past Friday was the First Day of Spring!! 🌸🌱🌼🌿 So long winter! And goodbye to freezing cold weather! Honestly, though it wasn’t as bad as in 2024, I’m still ready for some warmer temperatures.

This past Friday, I participated in First Line Friday again. First Line Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers (formerly) hosted by Wandering Words. It’s where you guess what book the post is highlighting based on the book’s first words.

Saturday 3/21: Brighter Than Nine Book Review

On Saturday, I posted my book review for Brighter Than Nine by June CL Tan. It was the sequel to Darker By Four, and the second half of the Darker By Four Duology.

It was one one my most anticipated reads (and sequels) for the first half of this year, and it didn’t disappoint. I actually enjoyed it more than it’s predecessor, and thought that it wrapped things up well. I gave it ★★★✫☆.

Books I Read Last Week

Wrapping It All Up

So yeah, that’s what I did last week. I’m hoping to either at least match it this week, or to surpass it. Like reading more books or something, as well as maybe posting a little more.

For my blogging this week, I want to participate in a few of the weekly posts, as well as doing a monthly post. Concerning my reading, I’m planning on finishing up the Dressrosa saga of One Piece, and then hopefully moving on to Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman. My spouse reading and liking the series, as well as literally everyone else at the moment, has finally worn me down, and I want in on that. And if I finish that before the end of the week, then I want to do a book review on it.

Not much else went on outside of books and blogging last week. There was St. Patrick’s Day, and the big cleaning day of the month came along, but that’s kind of it. It was a pretty chill week, honestly.

Anyway, as always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

See ya ~Mar

Weekly Wrap-Up: 3/9 – 3/15

Ugh, this is so late. I hope you’re having a good week so far. This past weekend and the last few days have been a bit iffy, which is why this isn’t on Monday like it usually is. But anyway, it’s time for another Weekly Wrap-Up!

Last week was fine. I did a decent amount of posting here on the blog and I read another book. So I’m happy about that.

But anyway, without further ado, let’s get on with the Weekly Wrap-Up!

Tuesday 3/10: February Reading 2026

Last Tuesday, I posted my Monthly Reading Wrap-Up for February 2026. And I got it out at a reasonable time of the month, this time. For those who don’t know, monthly wrap-ups are when I go over the books I read over the past month, as well as my stats over on The StoryGraph.

Wednesday 3/11: WWW Wednesday

On Wednesday, I participated in WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. It focuses on the Three Ws of Reading: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? and What do you think you’ll read next?

Friday 3/13: Don’t Let the Forest In Review / Friday the 13th

This past Friday, I reviewed Don’t Let the Forest In by CG Drews. It’s a YA fantasy-horror novel, with LGBT+ themes. It was somewhat reminiscent of things I’ve read before and I had other issues with it, but I generally enjoyed it. I gave it ★★★★☆, because even though it had its flaws, I really like the cover and I think it was a pretty decent book.

It was also Friday the 13th. Like I said last month, it isn’t a holiday or anything. I just like to acknowledge it for whatever reason. And we had two of these this year – because one of the Friday the 13th’s happened to be in February.

Saturday 3/14: Pi Day (π)

On Saturday, I didn’t really post anything, but it was another day of the year I like to point out for some reason – Pi Day (3.14). We didn’t end up getting a pie to celebrate, unfortunately. Oh well. Still love the day, though.

Books I Read Last Week

Wrapping It All Up

So yeah, that’s all the stuff that happened last week. This week I want to do just as well or better. Hopefully I can keep this up.

Concerning my blogging, I want to post my review for Brighter Than Nine by June CL Tan. I’d also like to participate in at least one or two of my usual weekly posts, and maybe something else. Not all sure yet. In regards to what I want to read next, I’m in between jumping right into the next arc of One Piece, or maybe reading The Last Sun by K.D. Edwards. I’m not completely sure yet.

Regarding stuff outside of books and blogging, last week my spouse and I finally finished the original Justice League cartoon from 2001. They’ve already seen it, so it was a rewatch for them, but it was new for me. We’d actually started watching its first season like a year and a half ago, but just now got around to watching the second and finishing up the show. I thought it was all right; I didn’t dislike it or anything, it just didn’t blow my mind either.

We also watched season two of the live action One Piece. And it was just as good as the first season. I can’t believe one of the top live action anime adaptations is One Piece – you’d think it would be impossible. And how the hell do they keep doing perfect casting?! But yeah, we really enjoyed it. Looking forward to season three (probably) next year – can’t wait to see how they adapt Alabasta.

Anyway, as always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

See ya ~Mar

Weekly Wrap-Up: 3/2 – 3/8

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a good week! It’s time for another Weekly Wrap-Up!

Last week was fine. I missed a blog post or two that I’d wanted to do, but that’s okay. I’ve certainly had worse. I also read a book again this past week, which I’m really happy about.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get on with the Weekly Wrap-Up!

Tuesday 3/3: The Most Interesting Looking New Books of March 2026

Last Tuesday, I posted a list of the books that I’m looking forward to this month. Or, at least the ones that I think look the most interesting. It was the The Most Interesting Looking New Books of March 2026. As always, it’s basically only fantasy and science fiction, as those are the two genres I primarily read. This time there were once again six books on my list.

Wednesday 3/4: Can’t-Wait Wednesday / WWW Wednesday

On Wednesday, I participated in Can’t-Wait Wednesday again. Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Tressa @ Wishful Endings. It focuses on books you’re looking forward to reading, usually new releases.

I also participated in WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. It focuses on the Three Ws of Reading: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? and What do you think you’ll read next?

Friday 3/6: Stolen Midnights Review

On Friday, I finally posted my review for Stolen Midnights by Katherine Quinn. It’s a never fantasy novel, that just came out last month. I had mixed feelings about it.

There was a lot to like about it, but there were just as many – if not more – things to dislike about it. I thought the world building and magic and mystery was interesting, but I was less impressed with the characters and romance. I gave it ★★✫☆☆.

Books I Read Last Week

Wrapping It All Up

So yeah, I think that last week was pretty okay. I’m hoping to do at least as good this week, if not a little better. I want to keep up with at least a book a week again – I miss doing that. Fingers crossed. 🍀🤞

Regarding my blog activity for the week, I want to definitely post my monthly reading wrap-up for February 2026. I wanted to do it last week, but sometimes things happen. I also want to participate in at least a couple of my favorite weekly memes, as well as get out another book review. For my reading, the next book I’m planning on diving into is Brighter Than Nine by June CL Tan, which comes out tomorrow.

Concerning stuff outside the blog, last week I switched over my decorations from Valentine’s Day to St. Patrick’s Day. So now the decor is now shades of green instead of red and pink. Aside from that, my spouse and I are still up to our usual.

Anyway, as always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

See ya ~Mar

Weekly Wrap-Up: 2/23 – 3/1

Hey there, I hope you had a good week. It’s time for another Weekly Wrap-Up!

This past week was great! My blog activity was pretty high, and I read a book and a half! Woohoo! And I know the next couple of books that I want to read next, as well as have an idea of what I’ll probably read after them. (The latter could change of course – sometimes my reading whims are weird.)

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get on with the Weekly Wrap-Up!

Tuesday 2/24: Top Ten Tuesday

Last Tuesday, I participated in Top Ten Tuesday for the first time in a couple of weeks. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It celebrates lovely lists, wonderful books and the bookish community. The prompt for last week was Quotes From/About Books.

Wednesday 2/25: Can’t-Wait Wednesday

On Wednesday, I participated in Can’t-Wait Wednesday again – for like the fifth time in a row. Wow! I’ve never been on a roll like that before – and I’m not planning on stopping now!

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Tressa @ Wishful Endings. It focuses on books you’re looking forward to reading, usually new releases.

Thursday 2/26: Strange Animals Review

Last Thursday, I posted my review for Strange Animals by Jarod K. Anderson. It was an interesting new fantasy novel, and it featured cryptids, which I loved.

Despite the excessive purple prose and my other couple of criticisms about it, I thought that it was a pretty decent book overall. There were even a couple of things that I really liked about it. I gave it ★★★✬☆.

Friday 2/27: First Line Friday

This past Friday, I participated in First Line Friday again. Two weeks in a row! Not quite the streak that I have on Wednesday, but not too shabby. First Line Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers (formerly) hosted by Wandering Words. It’s where you guess what book the post is highlighting based on the book’s first words.

Books I Read Last Week

Wrapping It All Up

So yeah, I’m really happy with last week, and I hope I can keep it up this week. I’m also feeling ready to read the next books on my To Be Read List, so I’m hoping that the slump I was in last year is officially over. Already I’m doing better than the first couple of months of 2025, though – four books in January and February as opposed to three. Fingers crossed! 🍀🤞

Concerning my blogging this week, I want to definitely post my book review for Stolen Midnights by Katherine Quinn. I’m also going to do my interesting looking new books in March 2026 post, and I’m planning on doing that before today is out, actually. For other posts, I’m going to do my monthly reading wrap-up for February 2026, and hopefully a couple of the usual weekly posts I usually participate in. I’m also hoping to post more often on the weekends going forward – I just haven’t had the time the last couple of months.

Regarding my reading, Don’t Let the Forest In by CG Drews is next, and I’m definitely planning on reading it this week – probably even starting it tomorrow. After that, it’s most likely going to end up being Brighter Than Nine by June CL Tan, which is releasing next week. Beyond that, I’m not super positive, but I have ideas. I’m thinking I might want to get back into catching up on the next arc of One Piece that my spouse and I left off at, sometime next week, as season two of the live action is coming out next week as well. Then, possibly the Dresden Files – I do want to get back into the series, I’m just not sure when I’ll get around to it.

Outside of books and blogging, the biggest thing my spouse and I did was watch a full playthrough of Resident Evil 9 officially known as Resident Evil Requiem, the latest main installment of the Resident Evil videogame series that came out last week. We just finished it and it was absolutely fantastic – we loved it. Other than that, we’ve done a few other things, but that was definitely the biggest highlight of the week by far.

Anyway, as always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

See ya ~Mar

Weekly Wrap-Up: 2/16 – 2/22

Happy New Week! It’s slightly later than I usually aim for, but I’m here with last week’s Weekly Wrap-Up!

This past week was pretty prolific for me, particularly on the blog. My reading wasn’t too shabby either though – I started a new book! Either way, I’m pretty happy with last week’s stuff.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get on with the Weekly Wrap-Up!

Tuesday 2/17: January Reading 2026 / Top Ten Tuesday

Last Tuesday, I posted my Monthly Reading Wrap-Up for January 2026. Unfortunately, I posted it rather late in the month again. Ugh – I gotta stop that. For those who don’t know, monthly wrap-ups are when I go over the books I read over the past month, as well as my stats over on The StoryGraph.

I also participated in Top Ten Tuesday for the first time in a couple of weeks. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It celebrates lovely lists, wonderful books and the bookish community. The prompt for last week was Books for Armchair Travelers, but I wasn’t feeling it, so I went with one from a TTT a couple of weeks ago that I missed – Book Covers Featuring Cool/Pretty/Unique/etc. Typography.

Wednesday 2/18: Can’t-Wait Wednesday

On Wednesday, I participated in Can’t-Wait Wednesday again – two weeks in a row. Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Tressa @ Wishful Endings. It focuses on books you’re looking forward to reading, usually new releases.

Friday 2/20: First Line Friday

This past Friday, I participated in First Line Friday for the first time in a few weeks. First Line Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers (formerly) hosted by Wandering Words. It’s where you guess what book the post is highlighting based on the book’s first words.

Sunday 2/22: Birthstone Book Covers

On Sunday, I participated in Birthstone Book Covers. Birthstone Book Covers is a fun little post created and hosted by Leslie @ Books Are the New Black.

Each month, for the post, you feature book covers that are either the same color of the month’s birthstone or include the color in the title. This month was February, and its birthstone is amethyst. So the colors to pick from are shades of purple.

So yeah, last week was much better the week before. And two weeks ago as well, honestly. I hope to not only keep up the pace with what I managed to do this past week, but to hopefully surpass it. Just a little. As always, however, we’ll find out what happens.

In regards to my blogging for this week, I’m planning on at least one book review, participating in at least a couple of the usual posts I engage in, and possibly doing a Bewitching Book Covers post. I’m wanting to do at least three or four additional posts this week, aside from this one.

Concerning books and reading, I actually just finished up Strange Animals by Jarod K. Anderson, so I’ll be starting another book soon. And I’ve already decided which one – Stolen Midnights by Katherine Quinn. I’m pretty excited about it. And I’m also pretty certain I know what book I’m going to read after that one – Don’t Let the Forest In by CG Drews. I’m also quite eager to read that one, too. After that, I’m not as sure, but I’m also reading Brighter Than Nine by June CL Tan (the sequel to Darker By Four) when it comes out. So that’s on the horizon.

Outside of books and blogging, not much else went on last week. Just my spouse and I trying to be healthier, but that’s pretty much it. As usual on weeks like that.

Anyway, as always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

See ya ~Mar
