Weekly Wrap-Up: 5/5 – 5/11

It’s a day late, but the last couple days have either been busy or slightly rough. But doing a Weekly Wrap-Up on a Tuesday isn’t completely unreasonable, and I’ve already done it several times, so I’m not that annoyed.

Anyway, last week I got out the two posts that I was really angling for, so I’m very satisfied with my blog activity last week. The only thing I wish I was able to do was a book review, but I haven’t finished the book I’m reading yet, which is why I didn’t get one done last week.

But yeah, I’ll shut up now. Without further ado, let’s get on with the weekly wrap-up!

Tuesday 5/6: The Most Interesting Looking New Books of May 2025

Last Tuesday, I posted a list of the books that I’m looking forward to this month. Or, at least the ones that I think look the most interesting. It was the Most Interesting Looking New Books of May 2025. As always, it’s basically only fantasy and science fiction, as those are the two genres I primarily read. This time I had five books on my list.

Wednesday 5/7: Can’t-Wait Wednesday

On Wednesday, I did another Can’t-Wait Wednesday for the first time in a couple of weeks. The new books coming out that I’m intrigued by are amping up again.

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Tressa @ Wishful Endings. It focuses on books you’re looking forward to reading, usually new releases.

Friday 5/9: April Reading 2025

Last Friday, I posted my Monthly Reading Wrap-Up for April 2025. It was once again posted at a reasonable time in the month, and I actually posted it earlier than I did last month. For those who don’t know, monthly wrap-ups are when I go over the books I read over the past month, as well as my stats over on The StoryGraph.

Sunday 5/11: Mother’s Day

Though I didn’t manage a post this past weekend, Sunday was Mother’s Day!! 🌸🌼 I hope that everyone who wanted to had the opportunity to spend time with their mom this weekend. We met for breakfast at one of my aunts’ houses mom’s side of the family, and spent the afternoon hanging out with my husband’s immediate family. It was a nice day.

Books I Read Last Week

πŸ’–πŸŽ Wrapping It All Up πŸ’–πŸŽ

So yeah, my productivity definitely improved last week, both with my reading and my blog posts. I’d still like to do better this week, however, and do another post during the weekend. I haven’t really posted on a Saturday or Sunday lately, and I’d like to rectify that.

Regarding the coming week, I want to finish Impossible Creatures and do a book review on it. Then I want to start reading a new book, though I’m a little undecided on whether it’ll be one of my anticipated books of May 2025 or The Ashfire King next. Regardless, I’m determined to read The Ashfire King sometime this month. I’d also like to do my favorite monthly post this week, too, as well as a couple of my usual weekly posts.

As for stuff outside the blog and books, I’ve been continuing my diet of course, and it’s been going really well. But my spouse and I have been pretty interested in Blue Prince lately, a roguelike puzzle adventure game that released about a month ago. I personally haven’t played it myself, as I’m pretty sure that I have the patience for roguelikes, but I have watched other people do so, and my spouse has really enjoyed what they’ve played of the game. My spouse has found the secret room, reached the credits and explored a great deal of the manor and it’s grounds before finding the room and a little after – so they’re probably at least 30% through the game.

I’ve definitely very much enjoyed what I’ve seen myself of the game, and especially love the story and how you discover it through your exploration. And I adore the ending when you find the secret 46th room (it’s not a spoiler because the game tells you this is your goal from the outset). I also really enjoyed and think the puzzles are super awesome and creative. It’s such a fantastic game and more than deserves all of the accolades it’s been getting.

Anyway, I’ve talked more than enough here. As always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

Monthly Wrap-Up: April Reading 2025

I’m posting this a bit later than I wanted, but it’s sooner than last month, so I’m taking it as a win. Let’s get into my reading wrap-up for April 2025.

So far, April is the best I’ve been with reading books, so I’m therefore the happiest I’ve been all year with my reading. I know I can still do better, though, and would’ve still liked to have read an additional novel or two than the three books I ended up reading.

Anyway, let’s just start talking about my StoryGraph statistics from last month!

April Reading 2025

I read 3 books and 1,019 pages

😐 MOODS: I had four Moods in April, which is the same amount as the month before. The Moods from this past month were: Adventurous, Tense, Mysterious and Funny.

πŸ‘’ PACE: All three of the books I read last month were fast-paced.

πŸ”’ PAGE NUMBER: The novels I read last month were between 331 and 352 pages.

πŸ“– FICTION/NONFICTION: It was once again all fiction. As usual.

🎭 GENRES: There were two Genres in the books I read in April. They were Fantasy and Young Adult.

πŸ“„ FORMAT: This pie chart was correct for once (but I admittedly did meddle a bit when I noticed it was slightly off, lol). All of the novels I read last month were on my e-reader.

⭐ RATING: My median star rating for last month was 3.42, as I rated the three books I read 3.0, 3.5 and 3.75 stars.

πŸ“‰ PAGES READ DAILY: My reading for April was a little sucky throughout the month, but with high peaks occasionally, as I read each of these books over three days but one day per whole book. It spiked the most on the 4th because that was the day I read the longest of the three novels. The other two spikes were the 15th and the 19th.

Wrapping Up the Wrap-Up

So yeah, even though April was definitely an improvement compared to the other months of the year so far, I think I still could’ve done better. I think I could’ve done better with my blog activity last month either, but that’s neither here nor there. Here’s hoping I manage to do better in May, though. πŸ€πŸ€ž

For May, I already have two books ready to go on my immediate To Be Read Pile. The first is Impossible Creatures, because I have other family members interested in reading it so I have to read and finish it pretty soon. The other book is The Ashfire King, which I’ve had since it came out last month but still haven’t gotten around to reading yet, but I’ve really wanted to.

After those two, I’m not as sure. There are a few books this month that I’m pretty interested in, so there’s a good chance I’ll read one of those. But I’ve also been really meaning to continue with One Piece for a while now, so hopefully I’ll get around to reading the next arc of that later this month.

Anyway, as always, thank you for joining me in checking out my StoryGraph stats for my April reading in 2025. Thank you also for reading, and I hope you have a great day/night!

Weekly Wrap-Up: 4/7 – 4/13

Ugh, late again. But not as stupidly late as last week. Here’s the Weekly Wrap-Up for this past week.

My blog activity for last week was really bad. I’d hoped that it would be better than the week before, but what can you do. My novel reading also sucked, which… sucks. I hope both are better this coming week.

Anyway, I’ll shut up now. Without further ado, let’s get on with the weekly wrap-up!

Thursday 4/10: Can’t-Wait Wednesday

Last Wednesday, I did another Can’t-Wait Wednesday for the first time in a couple of weeks. There’s been a lot of new books coming out lately that I’ve been interested in.

Can’t-Wait WednesdayΒ is a weekly meme currently hosted byΒ Tressa @ Wishful Endings.Β It focuses on books you’re looking forward to reading, usually new releases.

Sunday 4/13: March Reading 2025

On Sunday, I posted myΒ Monthly Reading Wrap-Up for March 2025.Β It was once again posted at a reasonable time in the month, though not as early asΒ  I posted it last month. For those who don’t know, monthly wrap-ups are when I go over the books I read over the past month, as well as my stats over on The StoryGraph.

Books I Read Last Week

πŸ’–πŸŽ Wrapping It All Up πŸ’–πŸŽ

So yeah, last week kind of sucked for me with both reading and blogging. Here’s hoping that this week improves on that. πŸ€πŸ€ž

I still want to read that sequel I said I kind of wanted to read last week, but there’s also a book coming out this week that I’m hoping to read this week as well. I also want to do three or four additional blog posts during this week, as well.

Regarding stuff outside of the blog… This week is another cleaning week at home. I’ve also started dieting and eating better this week, as well as being more active. But other than this stuff, nothing really else is going on. I guess Easter is this Sunday too, so we’ll be seeing family and stuff during that day.

Anyway, I’ve talked more than enough here. As always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

Monthly Wrap-Up: March Reading 2025

Well this is late. I don’t even have a good excuse for it either; I’m just late with this post. Anyway, here’s my reading wrap-up for March 2025.

I’m happier with my reading last month than I was with my reading in February. Sure it was two books read instead of one, but it was still better. I think my activity on the blog was also higher than the month before last, but I’m not quite sure about that.

Since this is already super late, I don’t really want to keep the rest of the post any longer. Let’s get into my StoryGraph statistics from last month!

March Reading 2025

I read 2 books and 621 pages

😐 MOODS: I had four Moods in March. That’s an extra Mood from February, which is cool. The Moods from this past month were: Adventurous, Mysterious, Dark and Emotional.

πŸ‘’ PACE: The books I read last month were both fast and medium-paced.

πŸ”’ PAGE NUMBER: The novels I read last month were between 133 and 407 pages.

πŸ“– FICTION/NONFICTION: It was once again all fiction. As usual.

🎭 GENRES: There were two Genres in the books I read in March. They were Fantasy and LGBT+.

πŸ“„ FORMAT: This pie chart was once again incorrect – both of the books I read last month were digital. Whatever.

⭐ RATING: My median star rating for last month was 3.5, as I rated both novels I read 3.5 stars.

πŸ“‰ PAGES READ DAILY: My reading for March basically sucked for the first half. It spiked some on the 16th, but then dipped for the next week or so. Then, during the last week of the month, I read on and off, peaking on the 30th and the 31st.

Wrapping Up the Wrap-Up

So yeah, even though my reading for March could’ve been better, it was still better than February, so I’m counting it as a win. I’m also generally happy with most of the blog posting I did, too.

April has at least one new book I’m definitely playing reading, and I’m also hoping to get to one or two of my anticipated new releases from March that I have gotten around to reading yet. We’ll see. At the very least, I’m hoping to read more books throughout this month than I did during the last one.

Anyway, as always, thank you for joining me in checking out my StoryGraph stats for my March reading in 2025. Thank you also for reading, and I hope you have a great day/night!

Weekly Wrap-Up: 3/3 – 3/9

Here I am with another Weekly Wrap-Up! And it’s posted on time this week!

So, my posting was way better last week than it was the week before. I’m really happy with the amount of blog posts I was able to get done this past week, especially compared to the week before. Heck, it’s even better than two weeks before that!

I am a bit disappointed that I didn’t have the chance to read a novel, or even a novella or something. I’m definitely gonna do that this week – this is not gonna be a repeat of February. I do not want that to happen again.

Anyway, I’ll shut up now. Without further ado, let’s get on with the weekly wrap-up!

Tuesday 3/4: The Most Interesting Looking New Books of March 2025

Last Tuesday, I posted a list of the books that I’m looking forward to this month. Or, at least the ones that I think look the most interesting.Β It wasΒ theΒ Most Interesting Looking New Books of March 2025. As always, it’s basically only fantasy and science fiction, as those are the two genres I primarily read. This time I had six books on my list.

Wednesday 3/5: Can’t-Wait Wednesday

On Wednesday, I did another Can’t-Wait Wednesday for the first time in a couple of weeks. There’s a good chance it’s the first of some in a row. There are just a bunch of books coming out lately that look interesting.

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Tressa @ Wishful Endings. It focuses on books you’re looking forward to reading, usually new releases.

Thursday 3/6: Emily Wilde’s Compendium of Lost Tales Review

Last Thursday, I finally, finally posted another book review on the blog. It was the first time in like literally a month. It was also stupid that this was the case.

The book was Emily Wilde’s Compendium of Lost Tales by Heather Fawcett, the third installment of the Emily Wilde fantasy series. I was really excited for this one – it’s one of my most anticipated new books of 2025 – and the novel did not disappoint. I gave it β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜†.

Sunday 3/9: February Reading 2025

Yesterday, I posted my Monthly Reading Wrap-Up for February 2025. It was once again posted at a reasonable time in the month, though not as early as  I posted it last month. For those who don’t know, monthly wrap-ups are when I go over the books I read over the past month, as well as my stats over on The StoryGraph.

Books I Read Last Week

πŸ’–πŸŽ Wrapping It All Up πŸ’–πŸŽ

So yeah, I’m very happy with the level of posting I was able to achieve last week. I’m really hoping I can keep it up this coming week, as well as read at least one book. Like I said earlier, I absolutely do not want a repeat performance of February for March.

Concerning the posts I want to do this week… I’ll probably just participate in some of my usual weekly stuff. I also want to post a book review though. That’s something I’m definitely hoping to do.

Regarding the books I’m considering reading next, well, I have a few at the forefront of my mind. Next,  I’m planning on reading a new release, something that’s come out in the last week or so. Then after that, I think I’m gonna start reading a series I hauled last summer – the third book is coming out this month anyway, I believe. And then, after this, I think I might read the sequel series I mentioned last week.

Anyway, as always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

Monthly Wrap-Up: February Reading 2025

February Reading 2025

It’s a couple of days later than last month, but I think I’m posting my reading wrap-up for February 2025 at a pretty reasonable time. The contents I’m gonna be analyzing here… are not so great in comparison.

Yeah. My reading last month sucked. I only read one book, and I didn’t even get to reviewing it until this month. But seeing as in February 2024 I only read one book as well, I guess I didn’t do worse than last year. So I guess that’s something. Technically.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get into my StoryGraph statistics from last month!

February Reading 2025

I read 1 book and 356 pages

😐 MOODS: I had three Moods in February, which was the same as in January. They were all the same size slice. The Moods were: Adventurous, Lighthearted and Funny.

πŸ‘’ PACE: The book I read last month was medium-paced.

πŸ”’ PAGE NUMBER: The novel that I read was 356 pages.

πŸ“– FICTION/NONFICTION: It was once again all fiction. But when you only read one book and it’s strictly fiction, it’s impossible to also read nonfiction.

🎭 GENRES: There were two Genres in the books I read in February. They were Fantasy and Romance.

πŸ“„ FORMAT: This pie chart was actually correct for once. Or twice, since this is the second month in a row this has happened. The only novel I read was a physical copy.

⭐ RATING: My median star rating for last month was 4.0, and it was my only rating.

πŸ“‰ PAGES READ DAILY: My reading for February basically sucked until the last week. As in, I didn’t read anything. The only reading I did was between the 22nd and the 28th.

The Books I Read in February

Wrapping Up the Wrap-Up

So yeah, my reading from last month really sucked. I’m hoping beyond anything that it improves in March. Like, just about anything would be better than my performance in February.

March has a couple new books that I’m particularly interested in, so there’s a good chance I’ll read at least one or two of them. I might not get to one of them until a later month in the year, though. I also have a bit of a backlog of a TBR I’ve been wanting to get to, as well as a sequel series that I’ve been thinking about continuing with for a while. We’ll see what I end up reading.

Anyway, as always, thank you for joining me in checking out my StoryGraph stats for my February reading in 2025. Thank you also for reading, and I hope you have a great day/night!

Weekly Wrap-Up: 1/27 – 2/2

Well. January is finally over and February has officially begun. Onto love month!

My posting last week was pretty good. I’d also say my reading (of novels) was also decent, even though I only read one book. It’s still better than the two weeks before by virtue of me actually finishing a book within a week, and not like half a book. I still didn’t read as much as I’d have liked to, however.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get on with the weekly wrap-up!

Tuesday 1/28: Top Ten Tuesday

Last Tuesday, I participated in Top Ten Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It celebrates lovely lists, wonderful books and the bookish community. This week’s prompt was New to Me Authors I Discovered in 2024.

Wednesday 1/29: Can’t-Wait Wednesday

On Wednesday, I participated in another Can’t-Wait Wednesday. Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Tressa @ Wishful Endings. It focuses on books you’re looking forward to reading, usually new releases.

Saturday 2/1: This is How You Lose the Time War Review

On Saturday, I posted a book review. It was on a novella that had been on my TBR for a couple of years, that I finally got around to reading. The book was This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone. And I’m really glad I read it. I gave it β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜†.

Sunday 2/2: January Reading 2025

Yesterday, I posted my Monthly Reading Wrap-Up for January 2025. It was once again posted at a reasonable time in the month – earlier than I’d done in a while. For those who don’t know, monthly wrap-ups are when I go over the books I read over the past month, as well as my stats over on The StoryGraph.

Books I Read Last Week

πŸ’–πŸŽ Wrapping It All Up πŸ’–πŸŽ

So yeah, like the week before, I was really happy with my posting for last week. Here’s to hoping that I can continue this trend with the blog! That, and to read more books. I wish I would’ve read more last week! πŸ€πŸ€ž

I’m not sure if I’m going to start up with reading the next arc of One Piece this week, or put it off to later in the month. If I do, then I think I’ll read A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallero. And then… I’m not sure what I’d read.

Regarding life outside books and the blog… still not a lot going on. I didn’t do as much home cooking as I had wanted to last week, though. Hopefully that changes this week. Also, next week features Valentine’s Day, and I’m looking forward to that.

Anyway, as always, thank you to everyone for reading, and I hope you all have a wonderful day/night!

Monthly Wrap-Up: January Reading 2025

Here we are, on the second day of the month. Once again, a reasonable day to be posting a wrap-up. Also, ❄️ Happy Groundhog Day 🌱 everybody!! Will we or won’t we have six more weeks of winter?!

Regarding January 2025 my reading was… fine. I didn’t end up reading as many books as I’d hoped I would, but I read twice as many as I did in January 2024, so I’m counting it as a win.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get into my StoryGraph statistics from last month!

January Reading 2025

I read 2 books and 518 pages

😐 MOODS: I had three Moods in January, which was less than I did the month before. There wasn’t one mood that was bigger than the others this time, they were all the same size slice. The Moods were: Adventurous, Mysterious and Emotional.

πŸ‘’ PACE: My books from last month were all medium-paced.

πŸ”’ PAGE NUMBER: Everything I read was between 198 and 384 pages.

πŸ“–Β FICTION/NONFICTION:Β It was once again all fiction in January. Per usual.

🎭 GENRES: There were four Genres in the books I read in January. Like my Moods from this month, all of the Genres also appeared equally. They were: Fantasy, Romance, Science Fiction, Young Adult and LGBT+.

πŸ“„ FORMAT: This pie chart was actually correct for once. One of the books I read was digital and the other was a physical copy.

⭐ RATING: My median star rating for last month was 3.75. The ratings I gave were between 3.5 stars and 4.0 stars, so yeah.

πŸ“‰ PAGES READ DAILY: My highest spike of reading occured from the 17th through the 19th. My other reading spike, as well as the only other time I read a novel this month, was from the 30th and the 31st.

Wrapping Up the Wrap-Up

So yeah, even though I wasn’t quite happy with the amount of books I read last month, it was still better than the same month last year, so I’m still satisfied well enough with it. I’d still like to do better for February, this coming month, however.

This month I’ve got a couple novels I’m interested in right off the bat, as well. First off is the last installment of the Emily Wilde series, Emily Wilde’s Compendium of Lost Tales, but I’m also a little interested in Neal Shusterman’s new book, All Better Now. I’ve also still got books from my birthday last year as well as Christmas that I still have to read, and I’d like to get through one of two in February.

Anyway, as always, thank you for joining me in checking out my StoryGraph stats for my January reading in 2025. Thank you also for reading, and I hope you have a fantastic day/night!

Monthly Wrap-Up: December Reading 2024

December Reading 2024

Yes! I’m posting my December Reading wrap-up for 2024 on a reasonable day in January! It’s not halfway through the freaking month this time!

This past month, my reading was… okay. It could’ve been waayyy better, though, and I’m really hoping to improve it some this month. Like, ugh, December was barely acceptable regarding my reading of books.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get into my StoryGraph statistics from last month!

December Reading 2024

I read 4 books and 611 pages

😐 MOODS: I had four Moods in December, which was less than I did the month before. As usual, the biggest Mood of the pie was Adventurous, taking up half of the chart. The other Moods were Lighthearted, Funny and Emotional, and they were all the same size slice.

πŸ‘’ PACE: My books from last month were mostly fast-paced, but with one exception that was slow-paced.

πŸ”’ PAGE NUMBER: Everything I read was between 26 and 253 pages.

πŸ“– FICTION/NONFICTION: It was once again all fiction in December. Per usual.

🎭 GENRES: There were four Genres in the books I read in December. The biggest one as-almost-always usual was Fantasy. The other three Genres were Young Adult, Romance and Manga, and they were all equal on the bar graph.

πŸ“„ FORMAT: This particular pie graph is once again wrong. (As it always is.) (I’m too lazy to correct it, also.) Only half of the books I read were physical copies; the other half were digital, though.

⭐ RATING: My median star rating for last month was 4.13. The ratings I gave were between 3.5 stars and 4.5 stars, so yeah.

πŸ“‰ PAGES READ DAILY: My highest spike of reading occured at the edge of the first half of December, between the 10th and the 14th. I also read during the 30th and 31st, however.

Wrapping Up the Wrap-Up

So yeah, not super happy about the amount of reading I did in December 2024 regarding novels, but it is what it is. All I can do is try to read more during this month.

There’s at least one book I’m really looking forward to this month, and that I’m also absolutely going to read immediately, so there’s at least one book there. I also got several novels for Christmas that I’m also excited about, and am hopefully going to read some of them in January as well. (I got like six books and two of them are like at least 700+ pages, probably more, so yeah.)

Anyway, as always, thank you for joining me in checking out my StoryGraph stats for my December reading in 2024. Thank you also for reading, and I hope you have an awesome day/night!

Weekly Wrap-Up: 12/9 – 12/15

Darn it. I’m practically posting this on Tuesday once again. Anyway. Ugh. December (and sometimes January and February) is just rough. I dunno why.

So, I didn’t read nearly as much as I’d wanted to, book-wise. Hopefully, this week I’ll be able to hunker down and really dig into a new novel. Please, for the love of God, Me.

Let’s just wrap up last week already…

Wednesday 12/11: November Reading 2024

Last Wednesday, I finally, finally, finally posted my monthly reading wrap-up for November. (Ludicrously late, I’m super aware.) For those who don’t know, monthly wrap-ups are when I go over the books I read over the past month, as well as my stats over on The StoryGraph.

Friday 12/13: First Line Friday / Friday the 13th

On Friday, I participated in First Line Fridays for the first time in several weeks. First Line Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers (formerly) hosted by Wandering Words.

Last Friday also happened to fall on the 13th – oooh spooky! – the second of this year since it was a leap year. The other Friday the 13th was in September.

Sunday 12/15: Bewitching Book Covers

Yesterday, I – for the first time in months – did another Bewitching Book Covers post. Bewitching Book Covers (formerly known as Majestic Mondays and Tasteful Tuesdays), is when I gush over a book cover that I like and analyze it (sometimes). It’s something I (clearly) haven’t done in a while, but really want to get back into doing.

Books I Read Last Week

πŸ’–πŸŽ Wrapping It All Up πŸ’–πŸŽ

So yeah, didn’t get the amount of novel reading that I had wanted to last week. I really, really want this week to be better, though. At least I finished Noragami, even though I deliberately put it off for two days because I knew it was the end and I was savoring it.

Regarding the blog, I’m planning on participating in a couple of my normal weekly posts. I also really want to get a book review out – I’m disappointed in myself for not doing so last week. I’m also definitely gonna participate in a certain monthly post.

Concerning the books I’ve got highest on my TBR – and on loan from the library – I really want to get reading The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch or I’m Afraid You’ve Got Dragons by Peter S. Beagle next. (I should probably read TLOLL first though – I rented it first, so it would be the responsible thing.) I’m not sure what I want to read after these, however.

Oh! And there was a book fair the weekend before last that I forgot to mention in my last wrap-up. It was awesome!! We got so many books – and for less than $15, too! I loved it and am so glad we went!

Anyway, as always, thank you to everyone for reading, and I hope you all have a wonderful day/night!

See ya ~Mar
