Weekly Wrap-Up: 10/6 – 10/12

Hey everyone! It’s time for another Weekly Wrap-Up. I know I’m a bit late this week, but real life is still rough right now, so I’m just taking everything day by day.

Last week was fantastic for me – both in regards to blogging and books. I’m really happy with it all. I was able to get out the post that I most wanted to, and I read more than one novel.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get on with the Weekly Wrap-Up!

Tuesday 10/7: Top Ten Tuesday

Last Tuesday, I participated in Top Ten Tuesday. It’s been almost two months since I last participated in this, what with everything going on, so I was eager to get back into it.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It celebrates lovely lists, wonderful books and the bookish community. The prompt for last week was Satisfying Book Series.

Wednesday 10/8: Can’t-Wait Wednesday

On Wednesday, I did another Can’t-Wait Wednesday. Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Tressa @ Wishful Endings. It focuses on books you’re looking forward to reading, usually new releases.

Sunday 10/12: September Reading 2025

Last Sunday, I posted my Monthly Reading Wrap-Up for September 2025. And it was posted at a reasonable time of the month this time! For those who don’t know, monthly wrap-ups are when I go over the books I read over the past month, as well as my stats over on The StoryGraph.

Books I Read Last Week

Wrapping It All Up

So yeah, last week was pretty good in terms of blog activity and the novel reading that I did. I’m hoping that this week will, at the very least, be almost as good, but you never know. And with how stuff beyond books and blogging is still pretty rough, I’m going to continue taking it day by day.

This week I want to finally start reading The Ashfire King by Chelsea Abdullah. I also want to do at least three other blog posts besides this one, one of them being a book review. And then I’ll go from there after that.

Not much else to say about anything aside from that. I’m gonna probably clean the house this week, and there’s still a lot going on in my personal life, but that’s it. Oh, and I guess my spouse and I are still trying to be healthier.

Anyway, as always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night! As well as a much better week than I’ve been having!

Monthly Wrap-Up: September Reading 2025

It’s a bit later than I wanted to post this, but it’s also way earlier than last month, so I’ll take it. But yeah, here comes my reading wrap-up for September 2025!

My reading for this part month was basically the same as it was in August. It was also kind of bad. But my reading in general for most of this year has sucked, so yeah.

Anyway, let’s just start talking about my StoryGraph statistics from last month!

September Reading 2025

I read 1 book and 608 pages

😐 MOODS: I had three Moods in September, which is the same as the month before. The Moods from this past month were also the same as the month before: AdventurousLighthearted and Funny.

👢 PACE: The book I read last month was slow-paced.

🔢 PAGE NUMBER: The graphic novel I read last month was 608 pages.

📖 FICTION/NONFICTION: It was once again all fiction. As usual.

🎭 GENRES: There were two Genres on the graph this month. They were Fantasy and Manga.

📄 FORMAT: This pie chart was once again correct. Six straight months. That’s half a year. Yay.

⭐ RATING: My median star rating for last month was 4.0, which makes sense as I only read one book and that was the rating I gave it.

📉 PAGES READ DAILY: My reading once again sucked in September. I only read during the middle of the night, and it’s also where much prai of the month is.

Wrapping Up the Wrap-Up

So yeah, last month was kind of just the latest month this year so far wherein my reading was not great. I’d say I hope October is better, but it’s already started and it actually is better because I’ve already read two books!

This month I’ve already read A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro and What Stalks the Deep by T. Kingfisher. Next, I’m planning on finally reading The Ashfire King by Chelsea Abdullah. Then, I’ll probably get back into the Dresden Files, and after that, One Piece.

Anyway, as always, thank you for joining me in checking out my StoryGraph stats for my September reading in 2025. Thank you also for reading, and I hope you have a great day/night!

Weekly Wrap-Up: 9/15 – 9/21

So it’s a little bit late, but I’m here with my Weekly Wrap-Up for last week!

Posting was okay last week, but it could’ve been better. Stuff happened during the second half of the week though, and I ended up getting a little busy. It’s also why I didn’t end up being able to read more than I did.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get on with the Weekly Wrap-Up!

Wednesday 9/17: Can’t-Wait Wednesday

Last Wednesday, I did another Can’t-Wait Wednesday. Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Tressa @ Wishful Endings. It focuses on books you’re looking forward to reading, usually new releases.

Saturday 9/20: August Reading 2025

On Saturday, I posted my Monthly Reading Wrap-Up for August 2025. And it was posted at a reasonable time of the month this time! For those who don’t know, monthly wrap-ups are when I go over the books I read over the past month, as well as my stats over on The StoryGraph.

Books I Read Last Week

Wrapping It All Up

So yeah, last week was okay, but it could’ve been better. I still read and posted though, and with how things were going before, I’ll take that as a win. I hope this coming week will be better, though.

I’ve got A Study in Charlotte and The Ashfire King on my more immediate TBR, so here’s hoping I’ll get through those this week. After that, I think there’s a good chance I might get back into reading the Dresden Files. I read the first seven books a few years ago – like six months or so before I started posting on this blog, actually – but then I took a break. Because even though I loved the series, I read those seven books all within a month, and I wanted to read other stuff for a bit. So I’ve been meaning to get back to them for a while. Maybe I’ll make it an October thing, since it starts next week anyway. I don’t know.

Not too much went on last week, with life outside the blog. It was cleaning week last week, and my spouse and I are still trying to be healthier, but that’s mostly it.

Anyway, as always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night! As well as a much better week than I’ve been having!

See ya ~Mar

Monthly Wrap-Up: August Reading 2025

It’s later than I wanted to, but I’m finally posting my reading wrap-up from last month. Things were unfortunately a bit busy during the beginning of this month, so everything has been pushed back a little bit. Anyway, here it is: my reading wrap-up for August 2025!

So August’s reading was kind of terrible, similar to several months of this year preceding it. I don’t think it was the worst of the year, but it was definitely bad.

Anyway, let’s just start talking about my StoryGraph statistics from last month!

August Reading 2025

I read 1 book and 810 pages

😐 MOODS: I had three Moods in August, which is the same as the month before. The Moods from this past month were also the same as the month before: AdventurousLighthearted and Funny.

👢 PACE: The book I read last month was medium-paced.

🔢 PAGE NUMBER: The graphic novel I read last month was 656 pages.

📖 FICTION/NONFICTION: It was once again all fiction. As usual.

🎭 GENRES: There were two Genres on the graph this month. They were Fantasy and Manga.

📄 FORMAT: This pie chart was once again correct. Five months in a row. Yay.

⭐ RATING: My median star rating for last month was 4.0, which makes sense as I only read one book and that was the rating I gave it.

📉 PAGES READ DAILY: My reading during August, as I’ve mentioned before, was not great. I read a little bit earlier in the month on the 9th and the 10th, but I really got my reading done closer to the end of the month, on the 21st, 22nd she 23rd.

Wrapping Up the Wrap-Up

So yeah, my reading once again sucked last month. Ugh, this year annoys me so much, in regards to reading novels and stuff. It’s also the worst slump I’ve ever had, by far, as it’s lasted several months. I just want it to end and to get back into books again. I guess hoping that September turns out better is all I can really hope for. Oh well.

For this current month, I’m definitely gonna finish the One Piece arc that I started last month. Primarily because it’s short – it’s only two volumes and I’ve already read one of them. I’m also hoping to read at least a couple of other books as well. We’ll see what happens.

Anyway, as always, thank you for joining me in checking out my StoryGraph stats for my August reading in 2025. Thank you also for reading, and I hope you have a great day/night!

See ya ~Mar

Weekly Wrap-Up: 8/4 – 8/10

It’s slightly late, but something came up later in the day yesterday, so I didn’t have time to finish this up. Oh well. At least last week went pretty well – I’m actually pretty satisfied with what I was able to do.

I did three blog posts this past week. Three in one week – that’s the first time in a while. Which is simultaneously both unfortunate that it’s been a few weeks since it last happened, but also fantastic that it happened again. I really hope that this is a sign of good posting to come for me. Oh, and I did read (part of) a book last week as well, so there’s progress on that front, too.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get on with the weekly wrap-up!

Tuesday 8/5: The Most Interesting Looking New Books of August 2025

Last Tuesday, I posted a list of the books that I’m looking forward to this month. Or, at least the ones that I think look the most interesting. It was the Most Interesting Looking New Books of August 2025. As always, it’s basically only fantasy and science fiction, as those are the two genres I primarily read. This time I had four books on my list.

Wednesday 8/6: Can’t-Wait Wednesday

This past Wednesday, I did another Can’t-Wait Wednesday for the first time in two weeks. I also made a new graphic for the featured image!

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Tressa @ Wishful Endings. It focuses on books you’re looking forward to reading, usually new releases.

Sunday 8/10: July Reading 2025

On Sunday, I posted my Monthly Reading Wrap-Up for July 2025. And it was posted at a reasonable time of the month this time! For those who don’t know, monthly wrap-ups are when I go over the books I read over the past month, as well as my stats over on The StoryGraph.

Books I Read Last Week

Wrapping It All Up

So yeah, last week was a big improvement in regards to my blog activity, and I at the very least, read something. And with how the summer has been so far… I’m counting that as a win. I’m hoping that I can keep this up.

For blog posts this week, I’m planning on doing a couple of the usual ones that I participate in sometimes. In particular, one that I haven’t done at all for the last couple of months. I also might do another post that is one of my originals, though I’m not sure yet.

Regarding reading books, I ended up DNF-ing the one I tried to read last week. I just couldn’t get into it, though I did like the writing. For this week, I’m gonna finally get back into buddy-ret One Piece with my spouse. It’s been ten months since we left off at the time skip (which was the perfect spot to pause, honestly), but it’s definitely been too long I think, and we’re eager to get back into it. I don’t know if I’ll read anything else this week, so there probably won’t be a review since I dropped the novel I read this past week as well. We’ll see.

Concerning stuff outside of books and blogging… Nothing has really changed, honestly. We’re still trying to eat better and be more active, but that’s kind of all. I guess my spouse and I finally finished Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 last weekend, but other than that we haven’t done much besides hanging out and watching YouTube.

I guess we also both read/are currently reading Aurora: Volume #1, so I guess we’re technically buddy-reading that, but that’s involved with books. I’m gonna try to talk to them about figuring out something more specific to watch next, other than stuff on YouTube because we can’t just watch that all the time, so hopefully that’ll pan out.

Anyway, as always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

Monthly Wrap-Up: July Reading 2025

Another month, another reading wrap-up! It’s a little bit late, but I’m not posting it as late as I have the last couple of months – particularly last month, ew – so I’m considering this a win. Anyway, here it is: my reading wrap-up for July 2025!

Like in June, and earlier in the year during February, my reading in July was kind of pretty not-good. I also once again didn’t post as much on the blog as I wanted to, but whatever. I’m definitely planning on doing better during August, but we’ll see what happens.

Anyway, let’s just start talking about my StoryGraph statistics from last month!

July Reading 2025

I read 1 book and 384 pages

😐 MOODS: I had three Moods in July, which is the same as the month before. The Moods from this past month were: AdventurousLighthearted and Funny.

👢 PACE: The book I read last month was fast-paced.

🔢 PAGE NUMBER: The graphic novel I read last month was 384 pages.

📖 FICTION/NONFICTION: It was once again all fiction. As usual.

🎭 GENRES: There were two Genres on the graph this month. They were Fantasy and Graphic Novel.

📄 FORMAT: This pie chart was once again correct. Four months in a row. I didn’t know the Format chart had it in it.

⭐ RATING: My median star rating for last month was 5.0, which makes sense as I only read one book and that was the rating I gave it.

📉 PAGES READ DAILY: My reading during July, as I’ve mentioned before, was pretty terrible. I didn’t really read anything until the very end of the month, wherein I read the novel over the last two days.

Wrapping Up the Wrap-Up

So yeah, my reading was not great in July, and my blog activity was also not the best. I really, really want to do better in August though. Summer has always been kind of difficult for me where productivity is concerned, and that includes reading books. I don’t know why that is, and I hate that it is that way for me, but that’s just kind of how it is. The past two months have been particularly bad, though – I’ve never had a June and July come out this bad. But August is sometimes when I’m able to get back into it, so I’m hoping that’s the case for this year.

I absolutely have contingencies for my reading this month though. For one thing, I’m definitely (finally) getting back into reading One Piece in August, and the next arc is three super-volumes/omnibuses, so that’s three books right there. I’d also really like to read at least two other books, so hopefully that will also happen. I don’t know yet if there’s gonna be stuff from my TBR, if I’m gonna spontaneously pick stuff or it’ll be both yet, though. I very much want to get back on track with everything – I love reading more than mostly everything and this blog is important to me, even if sometimes both feel like a bit of a slog.

Anyway, as always, thank you for joining me in checking out my StoryGraph stats for my July reading in 2025. Thank you also for reading, and I hope you have a great day/night!

Weekly Wrap-Up: 7/14 – 7/20

So… yeah… this is late. I don’t have an excuse. It was just a bit of a rough start to the week for me, I guess. At least I can say it’s not Thursday this time? (I hate that I can say that.)

Though last week wasn’t great in the reading books department, it was pretty good for the blog posting department. I finally did more than two posts in a week in July 2025! Yay! Four would’ve been better, but, oh well.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get on with the weekly wrap-up!

Wednesday 7/16: Can’t-Wait Wednesday

Last Wednesday, I did another Can’t-Wait Wednesday again. One more week and it’ll be a streak!

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Tressa @ Wishful Endings. It focuses on books you’re looking forward to reading, usually new releases.

Thursday 7/17: June Reading 2025

On Thursday, I posted my Monthly Reading Wrap-Up for June 2025. It was posted later than I’d have liked, but with all the stuff at the beginning of this month, I’m not surprised or too disappointed it took this long. For those who don’t know, monthly wrap-ups are when I go over the books I read over the past month, as well as my stats over on The StoryGraph.

Sunday 7/20: Birthstone Book Covers

This past Saturday, I participated in Birthstone Book Covers. Birthstone Book Covers is a fun little post created and hosted by Leslie @ Books Are the New Black.

Each month, for the post, you feature book covers that are either the same color of the month’s birthstone or include the color in the title. This month was July, and its birthstones is ruby. So the color of the month was red.

Books I Read Last Week

💖🎁 Wrapping It All Up 💖🎁

So yeah, my blog activity was pretty decent part week, and I’m happy with it. Regarding books and reading them though… yeah that could’ve been better. I dunno what it is about the summer months – I just have more trouble than normal getting into books and stuff.

This week I’m just planning on some of the usual stuff. Like, I’ll participate in or do some of the usual suspects. You know. I also want to try and finish a book and maybe do a review of it before the end of the week. Hopefully.

Last week was cleaning week, so we cleaned the house and stuff. Other than that, it’s pretty much just the same old kind of thing going on. Just watching what we’re eating and taking care of ourselves.

Anyway, as always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

Monthly Wrap-Up: June Reading 2025

Yes. I’m late again this month. But, interestingly enough, no later than last month with this post, which surprised me a little when I checked. But here it is – my reading wrap-up for June 2025.

My reading in June was abysmal, there’s really no other way to say it. Not only did I only get one book in, but it was a novella at that. My blog activity was also a bit iffy at times, but that’s neither here nor there.

Anyway, let’s just start talking about my StoryGraph statistics from last month!

June Reading 2025

I read 1 book and 162 pages

😐 MOODS: I had three Moods in June, which is less than the month before. The Moods from this past month were: Adventurous, Lighthearted and Funny.

👢 PACE: The book I read last month was fast-paced.

🔢 PAGE NUMBER: The novella I read last month was 162 pages.

📖 FICTION/NONFICTION: It was once again all fiction. As usual.

🎭 GENRES: There was one Genre on the graph this month, and it’s what’s almost always my top one to read – Fantasy.

📄 FORMAT: This pie chart was once again correct. Three months in a row. A miracle.

⭐ RATING: My median star rating for last month was 4.5, which makes sense as I only read one book and that was the rating I gave it.

📉 PAGES READ DAILY: My reading during June, as I’ve said before, pretty much sucked. I didn’t really read anything until the very end of the month, during the last two days wherein I read the entire novella.

Wrapping Up the Wrap-Up

So yeah, last month really sucked in regards to reading books, and my blog activity could’ve been better. So much for hoping that June would be better than May. I’m still gonna hope that my novel reading and stuff is better in July either way.

There’s stuff on my immediate TBR, as well as new books coming out this month that I’m interested in, so I’ve got plenty of options of what to read next. I haven’t fully decided on anything yet though, but I’ll hopefully be reading a couple different things in July at least.

Getting back into One Piece is still the plan, though my spouse is also currently going three a recently acquired stack of books. And that’s not even mentioning the fact that I have a few things that I want to read before starting with some of the post-timeskip stuff, so we probably won’t get back to that until next month. But we’re still gonna do it!

Anyway, as always, thank you for joining me in checking out my StoryGraph stats for my June reading in 2025. Thank you also for reading, and I hope you have a great day/night!

Weekly Wrap-Up: 6/16 – 6/22

I’m a little bit late this week, but I’m not that late. It’s not like I’m doing this on Wednesday or even Thursday or something. Let’s do this.

Like last week, I didn’t really get any reading done, which I’m annoyed about, but it is what it is. I did do a decent amount of posting on the blog though, which I am happy about.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get on with the weekly wrap-up!

Tuesday 6/17: May Reading 2025

Last Tuesday, I posted my Monthly Reading Wrap-Up for May 2025. It was posted later than I’d have liked, but with all the stuff at the beginning of this month, I’m not surprised or too disappointed it took this long. For those who don’t know, monthly wrap-ups are when I go over the books I read over the past month, as well as my stats over on The StoryGraph.

Wednesday 6/18: Can’t-Wait Wednesday

On Wednesday, I did another Can’t-Wait Wednesday for the first time in a couple of weeks. The new books coming out that I’m intrigued by are amping up again.

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Tressa @ Wishful Endings. It focuses on books you’re looking forward to reading, usually new releases.

Saturday 6/21: Birthstone Book Covers

This past Saturday, I participated in Birthstone Book Covers. Birthstone Book Covers is a fun little post created and hosted by Leslie @ Books Are the New Black.

Each month, for the post, you feature book covers that are either the same color of the month’s birthstone or include the color in the title. This month was June, and its birthstones are alexandrite, moonstone and pearl. So the color of the month was really varied – from teal to white to rainbow or iridescent.

Books I Read Last Week

💖🎁 Wrapping It All Up 💖🎁

So yeah, last week wasn’t quite what I hoped it would be, but that’s just how things happened. I want to do better this week, so we’ll see how that ends up going.

Regarding my blog activity for this coming week, I want to participate in a couple of the usual weekly posts, but also maybe do a Bewitching Book Covers. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done that one. I’d also like to do another book review, so here’s hoping I finish another book in the next few days.

For books, I’m pretty sure that I’m gonna read A Spell for Change by Nicole Jarvis next. Then, I want to read a new release from June 2025. We’ll see what happens though. The whimsy with which my immediate TBR changes is ridiculous sometimes.

As for life outside books and blogging, not much has changed. I’m still watching what I eat. Other than that, my spouse and I have been rewatching Avatar: The Last Airbender together. We’ve both seen it and loved it before – them around five times and me once or twice. But it’s been a long time since we last saw it for both of us, and we’ve never watched it together, so we thought it would be fun. And it has been. We’re almost halfway through the series now.

Anyway, as always thank you for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

Monthly Wrap-Up: May Reading 2025

So yeah, this is really late. I enjoyed the vacation my spouse and I took earlier this month, but man did it push all of my posts back. Let’s get into my reading wrap-up for May 2025.

My reading in May was… okay. I know that I could’ve read more books, and a decent part of me wishes that I would’ve read more, but that didn’t end up happening. At least I read more than one novel, though.

Anyway, let’s just start talking about my StoryGraph statistics from last month!

May Reading 2025

I read 2 books and 662 pages

😐 MOODS: I had five Moods in May, which is more than the month before. The Moods from this past month were: Adventurous, Lighthearted, Hopeful, Funny and Emotional.

👢 PACE: The two books I read last month both had different pacing. One was fast-paced and the other was medium-paced.

🔢 PAGE NUMBER: The novels I read last month were between 325 and 336 pages.

📖 FICTION/NONFICTION: It was once again all fiction. As usual.

🎭 GENRES: There were three Genres in the books I read in May. They were: Fantasy, Middle Grade and Romance.

📄 FORMAT: This pie chart was surprisingly correct once again. I didn’t even have to meddle with it this time, either! All of the novels I read last month were on my physical copies.

⭐ RATING: My median star rating for last month was 3.5, as I rated the two books I read 3.25 and 3.75 stars.

📉 PAGES READ DAILY: My reading for May was really up and down. I didn’t really start off that great, but I finally started reading my first novel of the month around the 11th and finished it around the 16th. I started reading the second book on the 27th and finished it on the 31st. My highest reading peak was the 30th.

Wrapping Up the Wrap-Up

So yeah, this is late and last month I could’ve done better. I’m hoping that the rest of June will either be better than May, or that I’ll do as well as last month.

Right now the stuff on my immediate TBR consists of The Ashfire King by Chelsea Abdullah and A Spell for Change by Nicole Jarvis. I’m still not sure which one I’m going to read next. There are also a couple of new June releases that I’m interested in, so I might actually read one of them first. We’ll see what happens.

I also do want to get back into buddy-reading One Piece with my spouse, but they have a bit of a TBR pile of their own at the moment, and I don’t think I’ll have time in June. Hopefully we’ll get back into it before the end of the summer, though. And as for blogging and blog posts, I’m just gonna keep doing what I’ve been doing.

Anyway, as always, thank you for joining me in checking out my StoryGraph stats for my May reading in 2025. Thank you also for reading, and I hope you have a great day/night!
