Weekly Wrap-Up: 1/6 – 1/12

I’m a little later than normal, but I’m here with another Weekly Wrap-Up. Ugh. Hopefully this won’t be a common occurrence.

Last week I was able to get out four different posts. Yay! And I’m pretty happy with the posts that I did. Now I finally feel like I’m caught up with all the end of the year/new year stuff. The business of the holidays is also over, which is a relief, honestly.

Anyway, let’s get on with the wrap-up.

Tuesday 1/7: The Most Interesting Books of January 2025

Last Tuesday, I posted a list of the books that I’m looking forward to this month. Or, at least the ones that I think look the most interesting. It was the Most Interesting Looking New Books of January 2025. As always, it’s basically only fantasy and science fiction, as those are the two genres I primarily read. This time I had six books on my list.

Wednesday 1/8: Can’t-Wait Wednesday

On Wednesday, I did another Can’t-Wait Wednesday. It had been a couple of weeks since I last participated, but there’s another upcoming release I’m a interested in.

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Tressa @ Wishful Endings. It focuses on books you’re looking forward to reading, usually new releases.

Saturday 1/11: 2024 Reading Wrap-Up Part #1

Last Saturday, I finally posted my Yearly Reading Wrap-Up for 2024. (At least the first part.) It mostly consisted of a list of my statistics from The StoryGraph during the past year. There was so much of it, though, that I had to split it into two posts. Yup.

Sunday 1/12: 2024 Reading Wrap-Up Part #2

On Sunday, I posted the second (and final) part of my Yearly Reading Wrap-Up for 2024. The part of the post mostly focused on all the books I read last year, in 2024.

Books I Read Last Week

💖🎁 Wrapping It All Up 💖🎁

So yeah, I’m pretty happy with my posting from last week. Not as happy about the reading (of books) I was able to get done, but hopefully I’ll be better about that this week. There’s a new book coming out that I’m interested in, so I’m optimistic about it.

Last week was also generally more relaxed. I didn’t get a lot of stuff done in general. This week I’m planning on getting some cleaning done, and maybe some other stuff around the house. I’m not sure what else I’m thinking of doing – I don’t really have any other plans for anything.

Anyway, as always, thank you to everyone for reading, and I hope you all have a wonderful day/night!

All the Books I Read Last Year | Reading 2024

Here it is! Part 2 of my reading wrap-up for the books I read during 2024. You can check out Part #1 here if you’re interested in the rest of my statistics from The StoryGraph and you haven’t already.

Anyway, I read 55 books which were 21,359 pages all together. So many books! Not as many as I read in 2023, but still, so many books. I’m hoping that 2025 will be just as good a year regarding reading as the last two years have been.

2024 Reading Wrap-Up

The Books I Read in 2024

How many books did you read last year? How many did you like and dislike? What was your favorite and least favorite? Did we read any of the same books?

Anyway, last year was amazing, and I did pretty well with my novel reading as well as posting on this blog. I think. I’m really happy with the amount of books I got around to reading, honestly.

But yeah, as always, thank you so much for reading, and I hope you have a great day/night!

Another Year of Books: Reading 2024

Another year, another several dozen books read. For me at least. Though I didn’t read quite as much as I did in 2023, it was still a pretty significant amount of books.

But I’m not gonna waste time explaining everything to you guys. The StoryGraph has all these awesome features that track different aspects of your reading. It’s really cool. So, without further ado, here’s all of my stats from the year from The StoryGraph.

Though, special note, this is gonna be a two-part post, ’cause there’s just so much information on The StoryGraph regarding my stats for last year. Almost too much, honestly. So expect Part #2 tomorrow.

Note: Part #2 is now posted. You can check it out here if you’re interested.

So yeah. These are all my statistics and stuff from The StoryGraph. Well, almost all of them at least. The rest of them are coming in the next post, since there’s so much.

Anyway, as always, thank you to everyone so much for reading and stuff, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

Monthly Wrap-Up: September Reading 2024

Here I am. Doing my due diligence with posting my September reading wrap-up for 2024 at a reasonable time in October. By which I mean within the first week. Yay!

I’m very happy with the reading I was able to do last month, and not just because I read (and finished) more books than I did in August. It just felt like I read a good amount of novels and that feeling is good enough for me. And I enjoyed all the books that I read in September, too, which is the best part about it.

But yeah, without further ado, let’s get into my StoryGraph statistics from last month!

September Reading 2024

I read 5 books and 2,299 pages

😐 MOODS: The reading Moods for September were fewer than in August, but there were still five of them. Adventurous was of course the biggest chunk of the pie chart. The second biggest slice is Lighthearted, which I’m not sure has happened before. The other three Moods were Tense, Mysterious and Funny.

👢 PACE: My books from last month were mostly fast paced, but around a quarter of them were slow paced.

🔢 PAGE NUMBER: Everything I read was between 240 and 672 pages.

📖 FICTION/NONFICTION: It was once again all fiction in September. As is my usual.

🎭 GENRES: There were less Genres in September than there were in August. Fantasy was the Genre I read there most of, which is always the case. The other four genres were Young AdultMangaMiddle Grade and LGBT+. (BTW, in case you were wondering, the genre vs. demographic thing still bugs me.)

📄 FORMAT: This particular pie graph is once again wrong. (As it always is.) Almost all the books I read were physical copies, but one novel was digital.

⭐ RATING: My median star rating for last month was 4.35. The ratings I gave were between 3.35 stars and 5.0 stars, so yeah.

📉 PAGES READ DAILY: I read a lot during the last two thirds of September. My biggest reading spike of the month was the 23rd, though my reading on the 19th and the 20th were nearly as high. I also read books between the 11th and the 17th, as well as between the 26th and the 28th.

Wrapping Up the Wrap-Up

So yeah, I’m pretty satisfied with the stuff I read during September. It was a good month for me this year – and not just because a new Legend of Zelda game came out. The books that I did read, I liked, which is unfortunately something that doesn’t always happen.

I’m not sure what my reading is gonna look like for October this time. I think it’s gonna be more than last month, though, even though I’ve hardly read at all this past week. (Sorry, whenever a new Zelda game comes out, it usually takes up most of my attention for at least a week. That’s just how it is and I’m totally fine with it! 😁🎮) It’s ’cause I have plans to read specific books this month, and there are more of them than what I read in September. So that’s why. But we’ll see what ends up happening.

Anyway, thanks for joining me in checking out my StoryGraph stats for my September reading in 2024. Thank you also for reading, and I hope you have an wonderful day/night!

Monthly Wrap-Up: July Reading 2024

So even though I didn’t read quite as many books as I’d hoped, I was at least somewhat happy with my reading for July 2024. Like, I read six books – that’s not too bad.

I also still have a bit of a solid TBR going on (that I still haven’t touched, lol), and there’s some books coming out in the next month or so that I’m into, so hopefully I’ll be reading way more in August.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get into my StoryGraph statistics from last month.

July Reading 2024

😐 MOODS: There were about the same amount of Moods as in June. Adventurous was of course number one, as it always is. The other three Moods were LightheartedFunny and Emotional, and they were actually pretty equal on the chart, except for Emotional.

👢 PACE: My books from last month were fast, medium or slow paced.

🔢 PAGE NUMBER: Everything I read was between 200 and 700 pages.

📖 FICTION/NONFICTION: It was once again all fiction this month. As is usual.

🎭 GENRES: There were about as many Genres in July as in June. The Genre king for last month was once again Fantasy as is pretty much always the case – I don’t think I’ve ever had a month where it wasn’t. The other five genres were Manga, Romance, Graphic NovelLGBT+ and Young Adult. (It bothers me that StoryGraph lumps in reading demographics with genres though – they’re not the same thing!! And these last five are definitely reading demographics.)

📄 FORMAT: This particular pie graph is once again wrong. (As usual.) About a third of the books I read were ebooks, while the rest were physical copies.

⭐ RATING: My median star rating for last month was 4.17. The ratings I gave were between 3.0 stars and 5.0 stars, so that pretty much tracks.

📉 PAGES READ DAILY: I read a ton during the second week of July, but that’s what happens we hen you read an entire arc of One Piece. It was my biggest reading spike of the month, as well. I also read some between the 17th and the 28th.

Wrapping Up the Wrap-Up

So yeah, even though I read six books last month, it still wasn’t quite as many as I’d have liked. I really enjoyed the books that I did end up reading, however, which was pretty nice. Hopefully I’ll read more in August, though.

I did end up having a bit of a minor slump during July, and I think it’s ’cause my husband was ready to continue buddy reading One Piece, and I wanted to read something else first. We ended up doing the buddy read of the next OP arc, and by the end of it I was kind of no longer into reading what was originally next on my TBR. Like, don’t get me wrong – I really enjoyed the Water Seven arc, it just all kinda messed up my reading moods for July. A little.

Anyway, thanks for joining me in checking out my StoryGraph stats for my July reading in 2024. Thank you also for reading, and I hope you have an wonderful day/night!

Monthly Wrap-Up: June Reading 2024

June Reading 2024

So last month, I unfortunately didn’t get to read as much as I’d wanted to. But I kind of expected that, what with going on vacation and all – it always completely destroys my schedule and productivity whenever I go out of town. Without fail. (Plus, I don’t read when during vacation. I dunno why.)

But it’s a new month, and I’ve got a good feeling about July. Heck, even though I haven’t posted as much as I’d have wanted to here so far this month, I’m posting Monthly Reading Wrap-Up for June 2024 within the first week of July, which is waayyy butter than last month. And I’ve got a solid TBR lined up of stuff I’ve been meaning to read that I’m excited about – not to mention whatever new releases catch my eye – so I think that this month’s reading is gonna be good.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get into my StoryGraph statistics from last month.

June Reading 2024

😐 MOODS: Not as many Moods as in May, but that comes with reading less books. Adventurous was of course number one, as it always is. The other three Moods were Tense, Hopeful and Funny, and they were actually pretty equal on the chart.

👢 PACE: My books from last month were all either fast or medium paced.

🔢 PAGE NUMBER: Everything I read was between 300 and 700 pages.

📖 FICTION/NONFICTION: It was once again all fiction this month. As is usual.

🎭 GENRES: There weren’t as many Genres in June as there were in the month before. (Again, it comes with reading less.) The Genre king for last month was once again Fantasy as is almost always the case – I don’t think I’ve ever had a month where it wasn’t. The other four genres were Romance, Middle Grade, LGBT+ and Young Adult. (It bothers me that StoryGraph lumps in reading demographics with genres though – they’re not the same thing!!)

📄 FORMAT: This particular pie graph is once again wrong. (As usual.) All of the books that I read were ebooks.

⭐ RATING: My median star rating for last month was 4.0. The two ratings I gave were 3.0 stars and 5.0 stars, so 4.0 is exactly in between them.

📉 PAGES READ DAILY: I didn’t read as much as I’d have liked during June. The only days I read were the 7th and 8th, as well as the last three days of the month. June 28th thru the 30th was also my biggest reading spike.

Wrapping Up the Wrap-Up

So yeah, June wasn’t the best month I’ve had this year in regards to reading books, but it certainly wasn’t the worst (I’m looking at you January and February). I’m excited about the books I’ve got on my TBR, and looking into the new releases as well.

As I’ve said, I’m really hoping that July is a good reading month. I’m starting the next arc of One Piece tonight, and I’m looking forward to reading the books that are out in the Legendborn Cycle and the Unorthodox Chronicles. And whatever comes out this month and catches my eye, of course.

Anyway, thanks for joining me in checking out my StoryGraph stats for my June reading in 2024. Thank you also for reading, and I hope you have an wonderful day/night!

Monthly Reading Wrap-Up: January 2024

It’s been… a while. Sorry. Winter is sometimes a hard season for me. But this year, my spouse and I have both been dealing with some stress, and I’ve also just been dealing with a lot of different stuff. That, and I also haven’t felt like reading books lately. So I’m still in a bit of a reading slump.

But Valentine’s Day is like right here, and I should’ve posted January 2024’s Monthly Reading Wrap-Up last week, so I’m posting it right now. I didn’t do much novel reading last month, but I did read, so I’m doing this.

So here’s my stats from The StoryGraph from January 2024.

January 2024 Reading

So, there’s not a lot here, unfortunately. It’s better than December 2023, as I actually finished a freaking book, but I still only read one book. And my StoryGraph statistics reflect that.

I still have three different Moods though – Adventurous, Mysterious and Funny. My pace was pretty medium, the book I read was between 300 and 499 pages and the book I read was fiction (as seems to be the usual with me).

Still not a lot here – courtesy of my reading habits last month. But there is stuff here. The novel I read – Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands by Heather Fawcett – had two genres applied to it: Fantasy and Historical.

The format of this novel was print, as in, a physical copy as opposed to an ebook. I rated the book four stars but I didn’t do any reading until the end of January.

Wrapping Up the Wrap-Up

So yeah. I didn’t really do a lot of reading last month, unfortunately. (Well, technically I read a lot of fanfiction, but I don’t count that here.) The only thing that I really want to do for February is read at least two books. Anything’s better than last month.

Regarding my poor, neglected reading blog, I’m hoping to post a little better. I don’t really have any specific posts in mind for the rest of February at the moment – save one or two – but I am planning on posting a few.

Anyway, thank you to anyone who still checks out my blog. I hope you have a wonderful day/night!

Weekly Wrap-Up: 12/23 – 1/1

So. Yeah. I don’t think this is gonna be much of a wrap-up, seeing as I didn’t post at all last week. But I thought that this might get me back into the groove, and we’ve had a few holidays since then, so I have a little bit to talk about.

Anyway, I don’t have anything else to say. So let’s get on with the wrap-up.

Sunday 12/24: Christmas Eve

Merry (very late) Christmas Eve!! 🦌🎅🔔🕯️ I was baking up a storm the weekend before Christmas, and didn’t have the time or energy to read, unfortunately. But I made a bunch of delicious cookies!

Monday 12/25: Christmas Day

Speaking of which, here’s another very late holiday well wishing for y’all – Merry Christmas!! 🎄🎁❄️🌟 I had a wonderful but busy day, and it was super nice to spend time with family that I only see a couple of times a year. I really missed them. I hope anyone who reads this blog who also celebrates Christmas also had a great holiday.

Sunday 12/31: New Year’s Eve

Here’s yet another late holiday sentiment: Happy New Year’s Eve!! 🎇🎆 I was unfortunately sick this past weekend, so I didn’t feel up to doing anything, which sucked. But I hope everyone else had a nice last day of 2023!

Monday 1/1: New Year’s Day

For this one, I’m actually not that overdue! Happy New Year!! 🥂🍻 Yesterday, I was still under the weather – but this time with something else. My spouse was as well, so we took it easy and had a lazy day relaxing at home. I hope everyone has had a great start to 2024 so far, regardless!

💖🎁 Wrapping It All Up 💖🎁

So yeah, I haven’t done anything regarding the blog since right before Christmas, but my spouse has been off work and I’ve been distracted. That, and de-stressing from all the stuff I did to prepare for Christmas. And then of course, I got sick, and am still sick (though I’m feeling a little better, which is why I’m finally posting).

For the rest of the week, I still wanna relax a bunch and spend a lot of time with my spouse since they’re still off work. So I probably won’t be posting much this week, but hopefully I’ll post at least a couple of times. I’m also hoping to get back into reading – I hit quite the slump in December.

Anyway, thank you so much for reading, and I hope you have an excellent day/night!

See ya ~Mar
